If you are looking for a nice reasonable good value hotel to stay in the Denver, Boulder Longmont area this is your kind of place. Sure it is a little dated and you do hear the trains coming through at night (not to noisily) but the beds are top notch comfy, the service is hospitable and genuine and to top off they have a gem of a restaurant called Harolds. The restaurant is in appearance an upscale diner with vintage music softly playing in the background allowing you to enjoy an evening with your partner or just a delightful visit with the bartenders. The food is second to none with a limited but first rate selection of unique cuisine to appeal to most palates. We understand they have the best burger you can imagine, however we settled for probably one of the best presented chopped salad and lamb dishes we have had the pleasure of eating. Despite the inclement weather during our brief stay the hotel was more than enough of a highlight that we didn't care. A nice surprise. « less

Over the years, we have stayed in several Longmont area hotels. By far, this is THE best one we have chosen, and it will be the one we continue to use whenever we are in the area. We have family in Longmont and travel there occasionally for family events such as weddings, funerals, birthdays, etc. The Best Western is convenently located. The hot breakfast buffet was the highlight of every morning. The hotel, and the rooms, were clean and attractive. The employees were courteous and helpful. The beds were comfortable, but we did have a bit of trouble adjusting to the sleep number beds -- especially after my sister took both remotes and thought she was controlling only her own bed. :) The only disappointment was having only a shower and not a tub, but other than that, the rooms were spacious, well laid out, well maintained and incredibly comfortable. The Wi-Fi service worked well, too. « less

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The room was quiet, spacious, and comfortable; and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was also great. It was only a 45 minute drive from the Denver airport, 15 minutes from Boulder, and 45 minutes from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park; so we were able to see a lot of things in the limited amount of time that we had. We also appreciated the convenience of a lot of restaurants and fast food places nearby. In addition, the hotel has a lot of nice touches such as their complimentary signature rice krispy treats (see the picture below) that are available in the lobby along with coffee or bottled water. The lobby also has a nice large workstation where you can plug in your electronics or work on one of their computers without charge. Of course, there is free WiFi in the rooms. A special touch in the room was the Keurig coffee-maker. Another thing that made this hotel a great value was the delicious full breakfast. Don't miss the yummy banana bread made on site! « less

If you combine Groupon coupons for a three-day, four-day, etc. visit, be warned that they will make you check out and re-check in at least once. That was annoying but not the end of the world, but it would have been nice if the person who checked us in had mentioned it rather than us getting a surprise envelope under our door mid-stay. The low point was when I asked the General Manager about it and he was sarcastic, dismissive, and rude. "So let me get this straight," he said. "Your complaint is that someone slipped an envelope under your door." No, jerk. But remind me to remember your treatment of a Groupon customer when I get home and log on to TripAdvisor and get asked by Groupon how it went.
After the larger-than-life reviews, we were expecting a lot more than we got. The room was nice but having paper coffee cups and plastic spoon-knife-napkins in cellophane packages got old quick. The breakfast was so-so, the staff (other than the General Manager) was nice and appeared to enjoy working there. I would have given it 4 stars, certainly not 5, except for our unpleasant experience with the manager. Too many hotels to choose from for that. « less
