The story behind its Treasure, a rustic charm
In the year 1620, Chorlavi was the first property bought by the Jesuits in the region. It came to be known as the Jesuits' Monastery or Troje, a lordly mansion of countrymen, designed and decorated with European style, yet built by skilled natives who brought the adobe, roofing tiles and Wood work from the majestic tradition of the Caranqui-Inca era.
As Jesuits were expelled, the Tobar family acquires Chorlavi with an extension of more than 300 acres. Now, six generations later it is still in the hands of the Tobar family. In 1973, during the third generation with Jose Tobar was transformed into a hotel.
Among the vast array of the haciendas in the northern part of Ecuador, there is no doubt that Chorlavi still holds its tradition and story untouched thanks to its inherent beauty where once stood a granary house with its large halls, chambers and service rooms, you now find spacious barns turned into modern auditoriums and conference rooms, house for labors turned into rustic yet charming guest rooms, all surrounded by gardens and orchard sheltered by millennial tree's that offer visitors the magic aroma of the past.
All our rooms are diferent, they have private bathrooms, flat scream tv, and bathroom amenities.
Our Meeting space is completely renovated and offer modern audio visual facilities.
Every saturday me offer live music and typicial dances from the provincie.
