When 43-44 Marine Parade was sympathetically renovated to form drakes, a luxurious, contemporary boutique hotel with hints of the orient, they immediately set the standards for style in Brighton and soon established an award winning fine-dining restaurant. Aiming to be a “home from home”, drakes offers exceptional levels of service, comfort and more than just a touch of decadence. Most guest rooms boast impressive sea views or fabulous free standing baths, whilst all room have monsoon “wet rooms” or well appointed traditional bathrooms. Hand-made beds are draped in velvet throws and Egyptian cotton bedding, with goose down duvets and pillows to ensure a perfect night’s sleep. Guest facilities also include wireless connectivity and air conditioning in each room, plasma screen television, i-pod docking, dvd and cd player, room service and a discrete concierge for any extras required. With international experience and exceptional standards, the restaurant at drakes has succeeded in achieving several accolades, including the highest score of all Brighton restaurants in the 2013 Good Food Guide for the fourth consecutive year. Modern European menus are created with only the finest, seasonal ingredients and each dish is a delight to the palate. Specially selected Old and New World wines, as well as some award winning local Sussex Wines are available from a comprehensive list to compliment each course. For that extra special touch, the Private Dining Room, complete with a dedicated waiter is available for parties of up to 12 guests. During the day this room is ideal for Meetings of the same number.
