Green Sustainability

The resort has a robust sustainability action plan in place. We hold a green tourism Bronze award, we should secure a Silver award this coming summer.Our electricity supply has a current green tariff, this means our electricity is not supplied by fossil fuels, it is generated by another means, “wind turbine etc”Our food waste is separated and sent to a anaerobic digestion plant locally, at the plant methane gas is extracted from the food waste to supply electricity for the actual plant, and the bi product which is compost is sold to local farms.Our bedroom stock is lit by new generation LED lighting.We are currently working on a 80% recycle away from landfill which will be fully functional by July 2014.Our irrigation on our golf course is natural rain water via a number of small lakes, topped up with a bore hole supply.The actual Kohler company goal is “Carbon Neutral net zero by 2035”We are active in the community under the umbrella of Stewardship, this week we have a team sleeping rough for chas our local charity, we have had beach cleans in St Andrews.We have many other future and current initiative, i hope this gives you a flavour of what we are doing.

The new self contained conference wing opened in 2006, has it's own dedicated entrance and free car park adjacent, purpose build meeting rooms along the corridor from the main Hall Of Champions, all containing flexible meeting space. The Hall Of Champions is a large contemporary space at the heart of the Millennium Wing, this room can be split into 2 separate rooms and pre-function/reception/breakout area or exhibition space or opened up to create one large room. Registration desks can be placed for delegates at the private entrance and the Willie Park Suite can be opened up as a cloak room.
