Breakfast as you would expect in a US motel - pretty carb heavy (waffle machine, bagels etc) with some fish fruit.
Staff not overly friendly and looking to help, but adequate
Best advice would be to specifically ask for top floor and a room without a connecting door « less

Don't let my "average" rating deter you. Our one-night stay here on Friday April 5 was great.
Check-in was quick and the guy was friendly. He provided us with two wifi passwords and said we could just come back if we need more. Our room was 108 on the first floor. Sometimes it's nice to just get out of your car and walk right into your room.
Everything in the room was clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Sleeps like this always make me want to buy a king size bed. The fridge was put to good use. Make sure to turn it on because they leave it off to save energy. I turned it back off as we checked out.
TV reception on some channels was spotty. There is no closet but rather an open rack to hang things. Also, the bathroom is tiny, but this is because the sink area is external. These are no big deal. What could be a big deal was the non-functioning deadbolt lock on the door. The only safety mechanism we had was the door bar thing. Being on the ground floor, this was a little troubling, but luckily the door security was not a factor.
We chose Best Western Norwalk Inn due to its price and proximity to Rose Hills Memorial Park (the purpose of our trip). The location is right off the 605 freeway and not far from a few other places I had bookmarked, such as The Bottle Room in Whittier (great craft beers on tap) and Sanuki No Sato in Gardena (popular spot for udon).

Rooms are nice with clean carpets, and furniture is in good condition. Large flat screen TV with 30 channels, and an excellent picture. No work desk. Just a small table with 2 chairs under a ceiling light. Not bad, but not great. The free internet was reliable.
Sleep was uninterrupted and quiet. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was medium size with good water pressure and hot water.

My biggest gripe I will give to a hotel is the noise between neighbors. I don't want to hear my neighbor cough, talk on his cell phone, have sex, or hear what TV show he's listening too. This is what we had here. The "sharing" door between rooms (in case we wanted two joined room doors) gave no buffer at all, the walls seemed fine, but we heard all sorts of noise like the occupants where hanging at their shared door and the TV was right next to the door, etc. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Check in was fast. Desk staff were pleasant. However, I would not stay here again, just because of the noise. I marked down sleep quality only because the neighbor listened to TV until 2 am and up at 5 am, so then we were woken too. « less
