The location of the Hotel has much to be desired, however, the inside was even worse. A thorough cleaning of the entire place is needed. There was dirt visible on the floors where no one vacuums, there were phones (including in our room) that were sitting almost on display because there were no phone cords, there were wires hanging from the ceiling that were suppose to house Fire Alarms/Smoke Detectors, holes in the wall, lamps that wouldn't work, security key badges on outside entrances that were not in working order, exterior doors with broken handles, elevators that were out of order, etc. The hotel could be charming with the right attention. There is a beautiful courtyard between two buildings that was peaceful and nicely landscaped with the exception of cheap patio tables and chairs.

The Regency Hotel is actually fairly nice and a pretty good deal for the money. However the place is poorly kept. Cons: Checking in took forever despite there being no one in line. In our room, the bathroom door and closet door was broken, the controls for the A/C were broken and the controls for the sleep number bed were broken. The bathroom fan made a really loud scraping noise. The continental breakfast was always out of several items (plates, apple juice) and there were only about three salt shakers for 20 tables. Pros: Great price for what you get, the amenities were great, some of the food at the continental breakfast was absolutely delicious, the bed was comfortable (sleep number is pretty awesome for a $57 dollar a night hotel). The pool looked really nice even though we didn't use it.

Overall, the hotel was okay, but it could have been cleaner. The room service and front desk staff need better customer service training. Management was very good. Once repairs are complete, this hotel will be excellent.

The room was okay. The hotel advertises a free breakfast during the week at 6:30. The first day we were there on Friday and breakfast was after 7. Saturday it was suppose to be at 7, but no one showed up. We had to go elsewhere. I was disappointed in this because we needed to be at a volleyball game at 9:00 am in Garland.
