Property Description
This idyllic beach resort with a 40 metre white beach is located in the village Bas Daku, on Olango Island, a small island just outside Cebu and is a perfect place to stay for both backpackers, families, small groups, parties and business conferences.In Sagastrand Beach Resort you can rent a villa or a room. Our guests come from all over the world, also from the Philippines.The resort was opened summer 2011. The two villas in European-Philippine style have 3 or 4 bedrooms and two bath rooms. In the villas there is also satellite TV and a fully equipped kitchen available. We also have four new rooms with two single beds, a bath room and a terrace. All rooms are bright and clean. From the terraces there are a very nice view towards the garden, the sea and Cebu. There are hot and cold water in all bath rooms. The nice garden has possibilities for both activities and relaxation.The daily life on Olango Island has not changed significantly the last few generations, so tourists will have an exotic and educational experience visiting the island. The possibility to get to know some of the locals, and see how they live is an educational experience you seldom have the opportunity to in most tourist places. We therefore encourage our guests to take a walk in the village or rent a bike to get around on the island.The restaurant is located on the ground floor, just beside the swimming pool. The bar is in the 1st floor.From the resort there is a 10 min walk to the famous Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary. Also the nearest fish sanctuary is just outside our beach.If required a pick-up at the airport can be arranged.
Green Sustainability
By now we are supporting the local kindergarten/pre-school and some local sports arrangements. Experiences show that in the long term, the best way to support development is through education and culture. By hiring locals both during the construction period, and by running the project, the locals will improve their income and make their life a bit easier.

Airport & Shuttle Information
The international airport at Mactan Island just outside Cebu. Then there is a 10 minutes trip by car to the harbour next to Mövenpick Hotel, to do the last stage by boat. After approximately 20 minutes you arrive at Olango Island . The boat trip is either by a barge or a pump boat to the quay in Santa Rosa, the largest village in Olango, located approximately 3 km away from the property. You can also be picked up and will arrive directly on the propertys beach. Olango Island is in other words located near to both the city and the airport.
