We are convienently located by Jackson Mississippi Fairgrounds at the Coliseum off I-55, exit 96B. Our hotel is within three miles from the Mississippi Govenor's Mansion, Smith Robertson Museum & Cultural Center, Oaks Museum House, Lefleur's Bluff Park, the State Historical Museum, Jacskon's Convention Center, Jackson's Zoo, University Medical Center, Bellhaven and Millsaps College, and Jackson State University. Restuarants of interest, and shopping are withing the near by surrounding area as well.

The Regency Hotel had been taken over by someone within the last three months or so. Someone else said they had taken over 3 weeks ago. Whatever. Upon arrival at 07:35 pm there was no confirmation to our reservation; consequently, we were given a smoking room and we had requested non-smoking (6 weeks in advance). Not bad, however. We were told our confirmation hadn't been "entered into the system" correctly and it had to be handled on a first-come-first-served basis. No one was there to clean the rooms; towels had to be asked for daily at the counter. There was no coffee pot in the room at all. The rooms were freezing cold, no matter what temperature we put it on. The bath water was WARM, never hot. Some people had to have their room keys rekeyed because when they left the room, the room key locked you out after one use. Saturday afternoon we discovered (200 of us that is) that our banquet had not been set up and there were only 2 people to serve 200 people. The hotel owner/manager and someone else. Hence, we served ourselves, and the food was cold. It took four coffee pots (all broken) to find the ones that worked (two). Should another VFW Convention be scheduled for this hotel, we will stay somewhere else. The rating for this hotel should be a minus ten.

Property Description

We are convienently located off I-55 exit 96B by the Mississippi Fairgrounds. Traveling distance from our hotels property to the International Airport is 10 miles, and 3 miles from Jackson's most popular museums, parks, colleges, hospitals, shopping centers, and restuarants. Our hotel has free parking, clean king, and two queen bedded rooms, as well as suites with whirlpools, and meeting spaces. We also provide complimentary breakfast served daily from 6:30am-9:30am, and vending machines are provided on each floor. The hotel has a fully equipped fitness, and business center in addition to Choice Privilege Rewards Program, Free Wireless Internet, Free Cable Channels, Coffee Makers, Microwaves, Refridgerators, Iron & Ironing Boards in each room, Adjustable temperature settings, Complimentary USA Today, and easy access off the interstate.
