The location of this Best Western is ideal if you have plans to go to City Walk or Universal. Best of all, there are a variety of chain restaurants and businesses all around you so you don't neccesarily have to spend big bucks in Universal. Everything is open very late.
The price was right at this Best Western. The rooms are spacious and they get an A+ on cleanliness. They have gone green and encourage guests to use only what towels are necessary and the toilet tissue is made from recycled items. Also the TV's remote is put into a "clean" box to keep it clean. What a great idea! Sometimes I wonder how many people have used the remote. They room came with a clean microwave & fridge.
Amenities include a "hot breakfast" but it's not really a full breakfast nor very good. Reconstituted egg balls, sausage and strips of french toast. Of course there's also the regular cold breakfast items. Free wi-fi was advertised to be available but that wasn't the case. They did however have a computer center in the lobby for customer use.
I was slightly put off that the employees were constantly speaking w/each other in a foreign language. It's disrespectful to the customers.
The shining star was Victor who works in maintenance. Did I have a maintenance problem? NO! But I do need assistance with my luggage and he was the man who was charged to do that. Such a polite, informative person who always refused a tip.Three cheers for him!!! « less

I booked 2 rooms here for 5/15 - 5/18 as the 2nd part of our vacation after leaving Clearwater Beach. As we pulled in, we immediately noticed that there was a lot of construction going on, and the whole front entryway was a complete mess and all dug up. The rooms were not going to be ready for a couple hours, which gave us some time to find another hotel. We took a look at the pool before we left, and not only is it tiny with only a couple chairs, but there was dirt and dust everywhere. We were assuming we would have an issue canceling, but the desk staff was very understanding, and we found a new hotel. « less

The hotel was dated and worn. Some of the furniture actually had chew marks on it.They must have given themselves the plus because they do not even have available the things that they advertise that are suppose to be the reason for the plus. The hotel is not walking distance to universal studios as advertised. Would not go back. « less

Outside and lobby appearance was very nice. Easy to get to from the main road and plenty of parking. Parking free-a number of Orlando hotels charge patrons for parking! The room was clean and comfortable. Linens soft and fluffy, bedding good quality. We stayed a number of days and had good cleaning service each day. Front desk staff was very helpful as we had a number (@ least 3 times) when our keys were demagnatized and wouldn't work...no idea why. But they took it in stride and gave us new keys. Breakfast offered a good variety and quality of food. My only complaint-or dissapointment was.. Breakfast started @ 7. 2 of the 5 days we had to leave before 7. Even though fruit was already out, and we were going to take some with us, we were told a number of times"breakfast starts @ 7" Does it matter if we take fruit? We would have had more that that if we had been able to wait for breakfast. Lighten up-either start breakfast earlier or offer the basics (fruit, yogurt, etc) earlier. I stayed @ BW in Houston and the attendant opened the frig early for us as we had to go to the airport, that was much appreciated. « less

We love staying at Best Western Plus Universal Inn for a variety of reasons. First of all it is very close to Universal's Islands of Adventure and Studios. So close, you could walk to the parking area and from there take there moving sidewalks to the parks or to City Walk. Secondly, the rooms are clean and comfy. Though there aren't any balconies or terraces, the rooms are equipped with in-room coffee makers, hair dryers, mini-fridges and internet access. Although there is no dining/lounges on-site, there are several restaurants within walking distance such as: Kobe Steakhouse, Carrabba's and TGIF, just to name a few. Last is the breakfast buffet which is included with your room rate. Coffee, tea, juices, cereal, pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast and pastries were offered on our last visit. The staff is very friendly and ready to answer any questions regarding your visit. There is also a "tourist specialist" on hand to provide brochures, discount coupons and the like while you're visiting the Orlando area. There is also small gym and pool onsite. « less
