I was in this hotel for a week. The room was very clean. We had a lot of space. The internet conection was excelent. The breakfast was really tasty. In the room there was a kitchenette. The hotel location is excelent, we were close to Central Park, 5th Av, and we were walking distance to Time Square and Columbus Circle. There's a subway station around tthe corner. The front desk was very helpful. I will definitly recomend this hotel. « less

Absolutely wonderful stay for 5 nights - clean, recently updated rooms with top notch service and management. Very friendly staff who take the edge off of being in NYC. We were fortunate to stay in a suite - rooms are very large for NYC - flat screen tv's as well as kitchenette and all with modern, high quality furniture, carpeting and decor. I can't think of a better deal in the city and we have stayed at numerous hotels here.
Very kid friendly but Ideal for couples and business - most of the travelers here during this time appeared to be adult and business - many international - which translated into a quiet hotel with very little late night partying and noise.
And - a good exercise room. I was worried about finding one in a boutique city hotel but this one has all the standard stuff that is in top notch shape and in a good sized room
All in all -a fantastic hotel in the eyes of this well traveled recreational and business traveler. « less

This is like a small suite. We were in Manhattan for 8 nights and this was a brilliant location (10mins to Central Park, 5 mins to 5th Ave shops, 15mins to Time Square) in a safe and pretty part of Midtown East close to gorgeous little restaurants, a great deli, laundromat and everything you could want. Tariff includes FREE WiFi, basic continental breakfast and helpful doormen and concierges. Our room included a lounge room, with small table and chairs, desk, safe and lge flat screen TV. The bedroom also had TV, built-in robe, bar fridge and VERY comfortable bed. Then there is a kitchenette area with microwave, sink, coffee maker, fridge and cupboard space and a modern bathroom with great pressure and hot water, shower in bath , hair dryer and toilettries. We bought some food to supplement the breakfast and used the subway 6 to access Soho and Little Italy. All in all it was a wonderful hotel and we will definitely return here. « less

I was there with my family one week before Christmas, the city was very full of tourists and the hotel prices very high. We decided for San Carlos Hotel first for its position, then because it was the only one offering breakfast included in price. The receptionist by checking in was very professional and gave us all information we could need. We had no questions, he really told us everything! The room was spacious. We didn't have a room with a view on the main street, but this is NY, you can take a look on a side street and figure you are in a film! Breakfast was a kind of self-service, you could drink cold and hot drinks as much as you wanted. They offered many kinds of bread and sweet breads, fresh cheese, marmalade and honey, butter, yogurt, fresh milk with cereals, fruits. There were no bacon or eggs, but that was for us no matter. The position of San Carlos Hotel is very good, just few steps from the metro station and bus stops. 5 minutes walk and you get to the Rockfeller Center and 10 minutes walk you get to MOMA museum. We would choose this Hotel again, no doubts. « less

I am just wrapping up a four night stay and have to applaud the San Carlos for a great experience. I am in the one bedroom suite which was like having my own apartment. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, and I mean everybody. The location was great since not right in the heart of Times Square mayhem yet close enough to get wherever you want to go. The little mini-kitchen with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker was great. I would definitely recommend the San Carlos for its value and comfort. And the windows open, which is a wonderful thing - I love having fresh air (well, Manhatthan air anyway:) « less
