The longest ongoing lodging facility in Summit County was a stagecoach stop, as well as an inn and way station serving train passengers on the D&RG Railroad. The lodge served as the gathering place for miners and trappers as they traveled into town from the outlying areas. The basic structure remains much the same now as it was in this past area. The Lodge retains the ambience of this past era.
