Crazy weird layout & design. Red Lion Hotel to DT conversion. Focused on bus tours, weddings, events, & SSU parents. Don't confuse Rohnert Park, with Santa Rosa or downtown Sonoma.
PROS: +Sonoma Valley location. Just off Hwy101 & surrounded by community golf course +Suites. Handful of 2-room suites available for big spenders or pray for random HHonors upgrade +Pool. Odd shape, but long enough for lap swimming if it's empty. Opens at 10AM. Hot-tub bonus +Hana Japanese Restaurant. Strip mall Sashimi and draft Sapporo is only a short walk away
CONS: -Rooms. Majority have shared open balcony or terrace. Beware of "Lanai" upgrade with views of the parking lot or pool level. Recent rehab, but not "modern" or "stylish" rooms as advertised -Noise. Three levels, long hallways, & cheap construction. Be prepared to hear your neighbors. Weddings & weekends bring the parties. 8AM start for cleaning maids -Customer Service. Avoid young, poorly trained, and indifferent front desk staff (better option is to find office manager Kathy McGee) -Dining. Bacchus restaurant & bar is uninspired (go explore Sonoma for all your meals) « less

Staff friendly but room over-rated as compared to Best Western Plus hotels we've stayed at during our trip. Room rates higher than Best Westerns and we couldn't see any different or greater quality in the room. We're able to pre check-in and park vehicle so we could go cycling . We paid more for a room with balcony over courtyard and we did get that, but in the far corner so courtyard barely visible! No cold running water in bathroom, no matter how long you let it run. Air conditioning didn't work but could open patio door for cooler air, in April. Noisy hallways but we did sleep good, bed good. Room clean. Wifi and desk area good for working. Had to become Hilton Hotel Club members to get free wifi, but no charge to become members. No complimentary breakfast, no complimentary bottled water! Breakfast costs approximately $30 for couple or the price of a bottle of wine and we were in wine country! Within walking distance to restaurant and location good access off freeway. We picked this area because of location for cycling in the surrounding area and for wine-country access. We felt comfortable cycling right from the door of hotel to Glen Ellen (35 mile loop) community on country roads and through Healdsburg winery loop, about 70k. Good location for driving to Merry Edwards winery. Photos of cycling on our website: cyclingwest.com. Roads for road cycling great but watch out for potholes and rough patches. « less

Convenient Location, very close to a lot of Wineries, The hotel seemed very large with a nice layout. The room was on the first floor with a sliding door also going outside, very nice for moving around some fresh air, and sitting outside just to enjoy the afternoon with a glass of wine. The hotel did have a winery there for a tasting also a nice touch. We will stay here again, just will not eat there… the Bacchus Restaurant pass it up. We had Dinner and Crazy I know Breakfast there as well. Dinner was not so bad, I just want to know what the Eggs were, I will just say they were yellow like eggs, for the price that is paid I will go somewhere else next time. « less

This is a great hotel for a great price. The staff is friendly, the hotel and grounds are beautiful, and the beds are fantastically comfortable. Best of all it’s right down the road from an In-n-Out. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Sonoma area this is definitely a great choice. « less
