Located within short walking distance of all shops and restaurants. Although located "oceanside" it is not what you think: you cannot walk out of your room, take 100 steps, and set up a chair. The beach is about 100 yards away, however. Comfortablle beds. Nice room set up, with mini bar and coffee maker. Clean modern bath. One major drawback is the absence of a bar on site, as well as the absence of poolside food or beverage service. Staff is very friendly. Quiet rooms: could not hear the neighbors. I do not think there was a fitness center: we were there for several days and did not see one. « less

This is a fairly old motel located just off the South Coast Highway. It's location makes it a handy stopping point if travelling the coast road from the Southern-most tip of California and is located across the road from the beautiful Laguna Beach. The convenience of being able to park close to your room should not be under-estimated!
Whilst the rooms and accommodation are beginning to show their age, the overall level of cleanliness and maintenance could not be faulted. Additionally, the staff and quality of customer service was excellent. The staff even very kindly offered to lend beach chairs and towels even after checking out, which is above and beyond what you'd expect and was greatly appreciated.
There is a small pool on site, but I didn't have the opportunity to try it out. Also, the outside seating areas offer a nice place to seat and see/hear the waves and at night they are adorned with candles which creates a charming atmosphere.
If you are looking for a great value place to stay with excellent customer service in a quaint, relaxed town, then this is the place for you! « less

We spent 3 nights here in February while tourning about that part of California. The room was small but nicely furnished. It came with a King size bed which took up most of the room (older hotel - room was probably designed for double bed). The furnishing were first rate, the room was clean, and had nice touches (spa level toiletries for instance). We were traveling with another couple and the inn has both a lounge and outdoor seating at tables that allowed us to socialize in the evenings without craming into the room. It was nicer on the inside than the initial impression from the outside. « less
