Got off to a bad start! We arrived in the car and the hotel parking was full, so there is not enough parking for all guests. We stopped in the street just to bring in or suitcases before we went to look for alternative parking and by the time we came back out we had a parking ticket. Room grotty and mould on bathroom ceiling. Complained about this and housekeeping was sent. The fumes used to clean off the mould was terrible and the whole room had a smell. Balcony had wobbly paving stones and weeds growing from the spaces. We wanted to leave and asked for a refund but we were refused so had no option but to stay or loose our money. Staff were very young girls who had no real interest in customer care. No sounds of the sea, just the sound of the tram line which is directly behind the hotel. I would not go back to this hotel if it were free! « less

For starters the location of this hotel is just great as it is on the beach and a few steps away from the Beach boulevard. Also getting to the hotel is fairly easy from Den Haag's centre by taking tram #9 and getting off at the final stop. You can see the hotel once you get off the tram. To go from there back to Den Haag you take tram #1, and make sure you're waiting for the tram at the right place as it's not the place where you get off the tram. The staff is quite nice and helpful. The rooms are nice and comfortable, except for the pillows which I didn't find too comfortable. And if you have a balcony overlooking the beach then you'll enjoy a majestic view of the sea. My room had a mini bar, a safe, hair dryer, iron and everything else you may need except an alarm clock and no instructions on how to set a wake-up call (if there are, I couldn't find them). But to make up for that you get two phone sets in the room, not sure why :) Room service is very good, so I guess that must mean that the hotel's restaurant is quite good too. The reason I didn't eat at the hotel is that it's surrounded by several interesting restaurants, cafés and bistros well worth trying. « less

Don't let the 4-stars put you off, I reserve 5 stars only for the exceptional. However this is a very good hotel and in a great location where its design means that just about every room has a sea view of sorts. Although the hotel looks a bit 70s and characterless from the outside the inside in modern but pleasant and not overly sterile like some can be. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is free wi-fi readilly accessible in all rooms (the lack of free wi-fi in 4-star hotels is a pet hate of mine). The breakfast was very good; although not your full English there was plenty of good fresh food and the dining room is comfortable and has a view of the beach. The bar is also cosy, which is unusual for more modern hotels. As for the location, it could not really be bettered. As for the staff, all were extremely helpful and polite. « less
