We planned at last minute visit to Williamsburg at the end of August and we stayed here. - Checked in was fast and staff was friendly. - Walking to our rooms there was a mold/mildew smell coming from the basement. - Our room was ok no smell. - Towels were dirty (no stained, dirty) - Called front desk to let them know, they apologized and gave me clean ones. - The remote control for the tv was broken. - They were attentive and friendly. They need to do some work regarding cleanliness. « less

We satyed here over Christmas 2 years ago. Our car broke down and they called for a garage, but a now Hyundai business opened and they called there to have our car looked at. They offered to take us wherever we wanted to go since it was a weekend and the dealership was closed the following day(Sunday). We were within walking distance of quite a few places and did not need them to take us anywhere, but the thought was very generous. To top things off, I came down with the flu and was not able to go anywhere for 3 days . When we checked out a day early, the manager did not make us pay for 2 night since we could not go anywhere. We are going back this October for 5 days and I am looking forward to it. We have stayed here several times. We go to Williamsburg at least 3 times a year and have tried out different hotels, but we always come back to this one. The hotel has always been clean and if we did have a problem, they took care of it right away. Keep up the good work. Dee M. « less

After staying at a few hotels in the Williamsburg area, my family and I have have stayed at this hotel twice a year over the past 4 years. We stayed, yet again, for 11 days in August (2012) and are looking forward to a return in October, in spite of the fact that the pool will be closed. Like any hotel, little issues arise. Here, my experience has been once they’re brought to the attention of whomever is at the desk, it has always been address promptly. Although this time, during our 11-day stay, we really had no issues to mention. I notice the main staff is the same over the years, which I think says a lot about workplace environment and reliability. The assistant manager, Ron Jones, again who’s there every year we’ve stayed, would see us, waive and always greet us by name. I find the staff sincerely friendly with a warmth that goes with their environment. Mr. Jones had mentioned this hotel will soon be getting a make-over and some renovations done. I only hope they don’t change anything that would take away from its charm and quaint appeal. « less

I booked this hotel through Priceline, so I went into it without reading any reviews. I have done the Name Your Own Price system a number of times- this is my first big failure. This place looks old but clean on the website. And when I arrived, the lobby area is dated but clean. Until I entered the part of the building where the rooms were, I was fairly optimistic.
.. .it's a good thing I only paid $50 a night for this place. The hotel is literally falling apart. We stayed on the 2nd floor and entered through a door on the first floor where the entire ceiling appeared to be caving in. The whole place smelled like a Frat house.
Our room itself was fine. I was a bit nervous to touch the sheets or towels. I inspected them and they were mostly clean. I can not speak about the free breakfast because I was not going to eat anything that came out of this place. There is a Dunkin Donuts down the road.
Would I stay here again? Probably not, and I'd advise you not to pay more than $49 for it. « less

We sayed 8/22/12 - 8/25/12, not the first time we stayed here. It will be the last time. We stayed in a room with a kingsize bed and found after the first night they put full size sheets on the bed. We told the front desk and they said they would take care of this. They just turned the sheets sideways and thought we would not notice. After talking to the people at the front desk they admitted they had no king size sheets. How do you have kingsize beds and no kingsize sheets. Next came a missing remote, light bulbs that were burned out, mildew on shower curtain and missing towels. The room was never cleaned and neither were the hallways, a peach pit layed in the middle of the hall for three days. The continental breakfast was terrible, milk was spoiled all three days and the front desk knew this because I told them. This hotel needs to be shut down, cleaned and the staff needs to be re-trained. « less
