When reviewing a property like this that has a good to excellent circle rating and many reviews, what do I say that hasn’t already been said many times before? For me, what I look for in this circumstance is the most recent reviews to see whether the property continues to earn positive reviews. Therefore I’ll provide this summary review.
When traveling, I look for places that are four to five circles in “trip advisor”, that are reasonably priced for the area, that offer a free breakfast and have free wireless internet service. This property met those conditions. This seems like a standard Sleep Inn. It has been updated/remodeled. Our only problem was that the wireless internet connection was intermittent and not very good. In today’s world quality wireless should be a given just like other utilities (e.g. electrical, plumbing). Otherwise this was an o.k. experience for us. It was rated four circles and 20th in Wilmington when we reserved the room though I see it has dropped to three and one-half and is now rated 28th in Wilmington. Our experience confirmed the higher ratings and reviews. « less

Words can not discrible how disgusting this dump is. They painted and put down "new" carpeting but they DID NOT or COULD NOT have fumigated! Roaches are everywhere. When I went to the front desk to tell them I had a huge dinosaur of a cockroach in my room and to PLEASE get it out. The front desk staffer thought it was funny and told me that roaches are normally that bad in hotels for that area. That is not true, I go to Wilmington on a monthly basis and stay in various hotels, it is the Sleep Inn of Wilmington that is INFESTED. He continued his unprofessionalism by giving me the excuse that maintence was gone for the day and that they will go by in the morning, it was 4:30pm in the afternoon and I just check in he didn't even offer me another room! In the morning when I woke I slipped my feet into my flipflops and another roach ran out from under my shoe. I had had enough and check out of that hole and into another hotel for the rest of my business trip. The room also had a musty smell to it even though it said it was a "non smoking room". The toilet was broken at the base, when I sat down I almost fell over. It flushes like an airplane lavatory but yet nothing goes down. If you have a question the staff acts like you are a bother to them. I have traveled all over the world including third world countries and this rat trap is one of the worst. « less

I am in the navy and we have been staying here fir a while. We have to switch hotels every fiscal year and we always end up back here, because of money. The rooms are decent at best, but I have found roaches in mine before namely German roaches. As a former pest control specialist, I can tell you that that is one issue you do not want. I told the front desk of thst issue, and was moved to a different room after expressing that I didnt want another room, I wanted another HOTEL!. My room this weekend is ok (so far) but my shower, which has a light in it, was on and as i lay here in the bed a few minutes ago, im hearing dripping..like someones in the shower, dripping. I look in the shower an water is pouring out around the light. Now, i have done maintenance,electrical, and construction as previous positions, so I know this isnt good. I call the front desk, and inform them, and get told maintenance wont return till monday. Now, water and electricity dont mix as anyone should know. The front desk did not seemed alarmed at ALL about this and simply said theyd take a message for him for monday. So if you hear of a hotel burning down this weekend and a man died possibly inside,...its me! Great customer service!! « less

This property is nice enough but the real stand-out is the staff. The front desk staff here is exceptionally friendly and attentive. We arrived after 11pm and departed by 7am, if that's what you are looking for this place will do just fine. Compared to similarly priced hotels this one had nice updates with fresh paint, furniture, and flatscreen TVs. I am not a fan of the polyester comforters that are typical at Sleep Inn - they don't get washed after every guest and that creeps me out. Plus they aren't warm.
This property is notable for the nice spread they have for breakfast and for the updated decor. Both were a pleasant touch.
Pros: - Friendly, helpful staff - Great breakfast spread - Microwave and refrigerator in unit - Nice shower with very hot water
Cons: - For non-smokers you can tell that smoking was once allowed (linens, hallways.) - Bedding isn't breathable or warm. - No king sized beds. We requested one bed and it was a queen - the room was tiny. - Location isn't next to anything notable. « less

I stayed here for 1 night while visiting the Wilmington area. This hotel is basically your standard Sleep Inn format, although it does appear to have been recently renovated.

Room was in good shape and clean. The staff was extremely friendly. I'd definitely look at staying here again in the future. « less
