Built in 1926 and recently renovated, the historic Seven Gables Inn Offers European luxury in the heart of the bustling Clayton area. The welcoming ambiance and historic charm of the Inn is an inviting enclave among the shiny, modern high-rises surrounding it.
Historic charm and modern amenities is what the guests experience when they stay in one of our 32 uniquely appointed rooms. Each nonsmoking guest rooms and suites features such comforts as pillow top mattresses, down duvets, flat screen televisions, work stations with high-speed internet, and overstuffed chairs or sofas. French doors open to elegant private bathrooms, stocked with premium spa bath products and extra plush towels and robes.
Begin you day with our complimentary Euro-continental breakfast which features coffee, juice, pastries and hot breakfast selections. Unwind in the evenings Monday through Thursday with our wine and cheese reception. Delicious authentic dining can be found at Molly Darcys Irish Pub, located inside Seven Gables Inn. Serving lunch and dinner, the Pub brings a historic story from Killarney, Ireland where the original Molly Darcys is located. Well known for its award winning Tenderloin Steak Sandwich and perfect draught pours, Molly Darcys is an ideal dining and mingling destination.

We stayed here for one night and loved just how cute this inn is. The room was nice and it is an older hotel so it had it's own individual charm compared to a monochromatic modern hotel. The complimentary wine and cheese was a nice touch. The courtyard is lovely and the staff was very friendly. Parking is charged however if you park in the pay lot across the street it is free after 5 until 8 the next morning. My husband just ran out and fed the meter at $2/hr at 8am so a much better deal then the valet. The carpet in the room could be replaced, it was worn. The bar area and the breakfast area are nicely decorated. It reminded me of an inn you would see in Europe. There is no elevator but they do have a bellhop to carry the bags up if needed though it wasn't necessary for us. A very enjoyable stay! « less

Think small hotel or inn in the Cotswolds. Looks VERY Elizabethan, not very many rooms, 2 floors and no elevator. Staff is extremely helpful, if a bit limited in size. Located in the heart of Clayton, MO near WUSTL and other colleges. Spotless interesting rooms. Good food in the pub, at reasonable prices.
Just a few niggles, and these are just niggles: valet parking, bellman and breakfast attendant are all the same person. Need to add 1 more staff member. Housekeeping needs to be certain that all amenities are refreshed everyday, took 2 days to get shampoo replaced.

My wife and I don't usually stay at B&Bs, we like more modern hotels but this is what we got on Priceline.
Pros- the staff is very friendly and helpful, I felt like I was at a higher grade hotel. -while out of the way from most major places, there are lots of small restraunts in walking distance.
Cons- the property has seen better days, from the outside to the inside. -our room was clean but very small, the carpet had stains all over. -the AC couldn't stay up with the 90 degree heat, we had to run the bathroom fan to get the room cool enough to sleep. -the breakfast was very lacking, they try to save money here for sure. Try First Watch across the street. -Our shower had pressure problems and they don't have onsight maintenance to fix it, they offered to move us but we declined because it was late and we had stuff all over. « less

We stayed one Saturday night after attending an event at SLU. The service was incredible from check in to valet services to the complementary breakfast. Vince, the valet attendant stood out the most. He RAN to get our car and have it running at the front door for us when we were ready to leave. He also went out of his way to help restock breakfast items, refill coffee, etc. We really enjoyed the perks of this little hotel... Aveda bath products, delicious afternoon cookies and coffee/tea, amazing location. Definitely a great value and would stay again! « less

Stayed for 1 night on business based on a recommendation from a friend, didnt disappoint. Very friendly & helpful staff. Thank you to Kassiana for a quick response on my reservation and Andre at check-in was very welcoming. Not a cookie cutter boring brand hotel which I appreciate since I travel frequently. Easy & fast wifi. Didnt get a chance to stop in the bar but looked like it was a great place to have a Guinness, next time! Clean & well maintaned room, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom amenities. « less
