When I checked in on April 6, the hotel was quiet, and there was no college bus in the parking lot. But then, on Sunday morning, at 6 a.m., the nightmare started. It sounded like the Calgary Stampede above my room. I could hear every footstep, and sleeping was no longer possible.
So I headed for the breakfast room which had been taken over by a bus group of students from Norfolk, VA. Imagine half a dozen tables and a small buffet for 50 college students! The other guests did not stand a chance, although the attendant kept bringing out more food. I would have eaten in my room, but a kind stranger saved his table for me.
All chain hotels have at least one meeting room, and this hotel manager should have found a better solution for feeding this bus group separately. At $109 per night, the guests can expect a peaceful, well-stocked breakfast room and not a scene from "Animal House". Needless to say, I will not stay at this hotel again. « less

From the easy check in from Jenn and Julia to the wonderful morning breakfast...this place is a gem. Great rooms, spacious and clean...I want to sleep in the bed forever! Had difficulty getting up in the morning....LOL. Breakfast is fresh, hot, and and exceptionally good for a HI. The pancake maker is awesome. Hot, fluffy, fresh made pancakes.....what more can you ask. 24 hour coffee is a great touch and the shuttle to the casino was great. Love it here..... « less

Everything from check in to checkout (w/free breakfast) was 5 Stars. The Hotel employees went the extra mile in assisting our needs. Even offered to set out clocks back for us since it was Daylight Savings weekend. As always the free breakfast is a welcome plus. Will come back again! Great proximity to Harrington Casino where I was working at that weekend. « less

I stayed here on a Saurday night using a free night from my Priority Club Visa. Reception desk recognized Platinum status and upgraded room. It is only 1/4 mile from casino. They have a free shuttle service on weekends that runs to casino (we tipped $2 per person each way)which is great if you wish to have a few drinks. The breakfast included just about anything you could want and was self serve. Food was normal breakfast fare with hot and cold items. « less

I recently stayed here for two nights on business in a King Suite. The room was large, well equipment/furnished and extremely clean. On check in I found the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms included hot breakfast that consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, pancakes, cinnamon buns, cereal and various bread items as well as juices and coffee. I went down for breakfast near the end the scheduled time the first day and the food was still fresh and hot. The room was quiet but the hotel was not very busy so it was hard to judge. The hallways do smell of smoke but as soon as you get into the room the odour is gone.
The hotel is located within walking distance to several stores and restaurants in the area (and just a few minute drive to the casino where there are a few more good restaurants). It's also located on very close to a main highway intersection so getting to Dover or such can be done within 20 to 25 minutes.
For those that are planning on staying in Harrington, I would recommend to give this hotel a try, you will not be disappointed. « less
