Position is great for the centre of Bolton just a few minutes stroll down hill. The staff where some of the friendliness I have ever come across. The rooms are starting to look a bit tired the first night we had was in a room with a big stain on the carpet. The second and third night we was in a disabled room as my partner is disabled, we found it was not very disabled friendly for her needs. The shower was over the bath and although a low bath she still fell trying to get into it. The toilet was extra low so even with the handrails she could not get off it without help. I know this is called an accessible room rather than a disabled room but what does it all mean. The food in the restaurant was very good with the fish being really good. We did not have breakfast here but I would assume it was ok They have a pool and gym I believe but did not see either of them so no comment. They have a lot of Weddings here so can here the music in your room if you retire early. The tv in the room did not work very well but was quickly repaired, The shower on the other hand was not repaired at all though it was supposed to be. Overall great location with great staff rooms good disabled room might not be what you want. Would stay here again if they have a proper disabled room « less

As a Platinum priority club memeber,I sue Holiday Inn as my prefered choise on buisness throughout Europe and the Middle East, but this was by far the worst I have stayed inn. The welcome was poor with no recogognition for a frequent traveller with Holiday Inn. The lounge area is dated, with dark lighting (this may improve if teh ceilings lights were cleaned!), dated uncorfortable chairs and then WI Fi available at £!0 per night, which does not work in all areas. The rooms are hit and miss. I asked for a quiet room and was told by staff that the top floor would not be suitable as you could hear a constant humming/gurgling noise from these from the plumbing. Whilst I was tehre for 3 days, two eprople checked out early due to the noise from the dated air conditioning units outside their windows. Although my room was satisfactory, the bathroom was dated with many craack saround the tiling and a horrible damp smell from the corridor. The food in the resturant is poor. The quality of the ingrediants is tastless, instant mash patato seems a favorite to complement most meals. On viewing the leisure complex I did not use this as the pool water looked dirty. I have no idea how this gets four stars. Overpriced, poor food, drab interior, never agin. « less

Dear guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write your review from which I was disappointed to hear of the issues you experienced during your most recent stay with us and I would apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused to you.
With regards to WiFi from July we are pleased to be able to offer all Gold and Platinum Priority Club Members complimentary WiFi and as a Platinum member you will be entitled to receive this service.
On a positive note I was pleased that you found your room satisfactory although you mentioned your concerns regarding the bathroom tiles being cracked which I am pleased to confirm have been addressed.
Most of our food is prepared on the premises with only a small portion prepared by outside suppliers and I have passed your feedback on to our Head Chef and outside suppliers.
I would like to assure you that all comments are acted upon and used to improve the products and service we provide to our guests. We do strive to deliver excellent customer service at all times which it appears we did not achieve and we hope that you will allow us to redeem our reputation and choose to stay with Holiday Inns again in the future.
If you wish to discuss any issues which arose during your stay in April or December further with me please email on gm.hibolton@qmh-hotels.com with a note of your contact details and I will make arrangements to contact you.
Kind regards

I have spent the weekdays for much of the last 20 months at this hotel (about 400 nights!) so feel I am well positioned to comment on it! The first of the highlights are clearly the staff, you will not find a happier and helpful team anywhere. The rooms are great, I have probably stayed in most of them, but I think 323 is one of the best! Many have been revamped recently, the new TVs make all the difference. For me, too much choice, even get pillow selection in room and far too many cushions! Bathrooms are great with bath and great shower (loads of water and hot). The rooms are clean and well looked after. Breakfast selection is great (and there is even more that you can specially order, e.g. the kippers!). Make sure you start your toast early, I have seen 3 different types of toasters tested in the last 2 years and a lot of anaemic or burnt offerings, current one is good but very slow! I have eaten in the Bar and Restaurant and food is good with great variety, but there can be quite a wait in the restaurant I have found (note you can order from restaurant menu and eat it in the bar area if you prefer the more relaxed environment, or on your own). The bar is good but sometimes quite a delay in serving as staff are multitasking, but they will take your order and deliver it to your table) The gym is good but a little compact. A nice sauna is also there and the pool looks great. Use the main car park on the right of hotel entrance as underground car park is a nightmare of pilars with much proof that it is tougher than most cars! If you are staying, always take a look at the wedding venue it is simply stunning, for a while during refurbishments it was used for breakfasts and was lovely. Guys, all I can say is great job and I will continue to stay with you. Wish all the hotels I use were up to your standard. « less

This is a very welcoming Holiday Inn (in my experience they always are) with very friendly, helpful staff located conveniently in Bolton town centre.
It was good value for money, with a comfortable bedroom and a very good breakfast.
I had two bar snacks which were very nice although a little pricey, but it was good quality food, well presented in a pleasant atmosphere.
Overall I would recommend this and I will certainly use this hotel again. « less

Room typical Holiday Inn standard comfy bed, great pillows, quiet. Gym basic and a bit tired but enough equipment to get a decent sweat up. Didn't use the pool but looked clean and welcoming. Staff all good. Resturant slow to start with but hey I was in no rush and was enjoying the free pint of beer offer (spend x on a la carte receive free drink and free wifi for an hour). The food was excellent when it came. Breakfast standard fare although wish I'd seen the "items cooked to order" sign before I'd helped myself.
