All at very attractive room prices (at least during May, when we went). The restaurant is relatively expensive, but you will not be disappointed by their fantastic culinary creations. We chose to skip the breakfast option, since there are plenty of alternatives around the Frauenkirche. Public transportation from Pirnaischer Platz will take you in any direction you want all over the city and it is only five minutes from the Haupbahnhof. « less

An excellent deal for under 80 euro per night (breakfast not included) in a very large twin room with darkened curtains, firm mattress, high quality flatscreen, free internet (bring your own RJ-45 cable or borrow one from the front desk), walk-in shower ... The Dresden Innside (by Melia) opened last year and is situated 60 m from the Frauenkirche, across the street from the Albertinum, 100 m from the Terrassenufer. It is very quiet and draws art-loving crowds as all of the Dresden Old Town does. At the reception, Ms Choulant, whose french ancestor was the cook of King August the Strong, was very helpful. Smiles everywhere, friendly nods from the staff. A nice and luxurious but unpretentious place where one feels at home instantly. « less

If you prefer your stay as above this is the hotel. It is near the main tourist area but not noisy. Room looks new, simple and clean. Maybe too simple as it does not have amenities such as conditioners, a kettle, and cotton puffs. My room has only shower and I hoped to take a bath after coming back from the chill. Room was super dry due to air conditioners but manageable. In all it was a low cost deal so no complains. Staffs are still on training it seems, but fine. Service is minimum but not bad. If you like business-like hotel, then this is it. « less
