I was trying to find an affordable - and decent - hotel at the last minute and I saw this hotel had good reviews and was a decent price. I really appreciate those who took the time to give good information about the hotel because the reviews were the determining factor in my decision where to stay. The hotel is a little out of the way - it's on a little road off the main highway, but it's easy to find on a Google (or similar) map. And there is a stop light at the intersection of the main highway for easy exit/entrance. There is a grocery store nearby great for stocking the refrigerator, or picking up items you may have forgotten to bring, and there are plenty of restaurants along the main highway if you choose to eat out. The hotel was well-maintained. The room was clean - including the kitchenette area. The non-smoking room was truly non-smoking - no residual smells of old cigarette smoke. The appliances, lights, and water fixtures all functioned properly. The bed was a little firmer than I like, but still comfortable - and clean! And all that for less than $70 a night! « less

Angie - Thank you for the feedback about your stay at our hotel. I am delighted to read your remarks about your recent stay at our hotel. However, I am very sorry that the bed was a little too firm for you. Still, I am very excited to share your delightful comments with the staff.
Your feedback is very important to us, so thank you for sharing. If you have any additional feedback, please reach out to me at cnt@extendedstay.com. I do hope that you will return to our hotel, or any other Extended Stay Hotels location in the future.

I stayed 10 nights at this hotel, and brought my cat along.
The staff was fantastic.
The room itself could use a good paint job, and a new kitchen floor, but it was clean and very comfortable. At $35.99/night, I REALLY cannot complain!
The laundry/vending area is well kept and comfortable, if a bit steamy when the washers and dryers are in use. Easy fix is to open one of the windows a little. ;-)
You're right behind a Giant Eagle, within walking distance of Walgreens, Tim Horton's, Wendy's, and Bob Evans. Easy freeway access. « less

I moved to Columbus for a job, and while I was searching for apartments my home base was Extended Stay America for a week. I got a great price ($294 including tax) and couldn't have asked for any more than was offered, other than quieter neighbors.
I had a small one-bed room, which included a small kitchen (fridge, microwave, sink, toaster, utensils, coffee brewer) and table, a TV with about 20 channels, and a comfortable bed. No pests, scheduled room service, thick walls, downstairs laundry room, and 7am-10pm help at the front desk.
There's also plenty of stores and business close by, including a giant grocery store, and a few exits north on 71 is a giant mall and numerous shopping plazas.
Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend again. « less

We have stayed at this hotel the last 2 years when we go to the All American Quarter Horse Congress in October. The staff is always friendly, helpful and check-in/check-out fast and effortless. Rooms are clean with the bonus of a kitchenette. Just down the street is a Giant Eagle and even though we do eat out, it's nice to have supplies at your fingertips. A nice place to stay if you're on a budget. Two downfalls are that the hall carpets need a good cleaning and that the mattresses are too firm for my liking but all in all a good trip. « less

The Extended Stay America on Zumstein is an average hotel for a great price. The are few amenities in this no-frills hotel, but it's cheap and it's convenient to I-71. I stayed there for 3 1/2 weeks in July because of a new job. It was right after a huge storm had blown through, so the place was booked with insurance adjusters and local residence alike. I stayed on the 3rd floor. There was only one elevator and it was very small. It was actually easier to come in the side door and go up the steps. The hallways were not air-conditioned, so they were very hot and humid (it was over 100 outside), and the carpets were filthy and sticky. The entire hotel had a musty odor and seemed unclean. The first thing I did was wipe down everything with Clorox clean-ups! The parking lot barely supported the crowded hotel. The staff was okay - The cleaning ladies were super and very friendly, the front desk people were untrained, and not able to help often. In fact, one evening, I came back from work to find the front desk clerk missing (which was a common thing). She came back stinking of pot smoke. My key card kept getting deactivated, which required a trip to the front desk. This was very frustrating, especially after parking on the other side of the lot. I would make my way to the front desk only to find the "be back in five minutes" sign. Out of the 10+ times I visited the front desk, there was only someone there once! All-in-all, it was an okay experience. The room was less than $40 a night and came with a kitchen and some basic dishes and pans. « less

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your experience at our hotel. Providing for your total satisfaction, from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart, is my staff's primary duty. Hearing that we were unsuccessful in your case is truly disheartening.
Our hotel prides itself on exceptional customer service, so I am delighted to hear that our housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. In regards to the Front Desk staff, please accept my sincere apologies for them not being able to meet your expectations. I will be reviewing our cleanliness procedures and standards for professionalism with all of our staff, using your review as an example.
We wish you only the best with your new job and hope you will allow us another opportunity to serve your future lodging needs and exceed your expectations.
