My wife, daughter, and I came into Roanoke for a three night stay and decided to stay at the Sleep Inn. We have stayed in Sleep Inn hotels before and all of our experiences have been satisfactory until now. When we arrived, I was a little concerned, there were three cars in the parking lot and the hotel next door, the Motel 6 parking lots was virtually full. At checkin, the hotel was actually hot inside as they did not have the air conditioning on. We asked the front desk about why it was so hot and we were told its just the afternoon sun. I did not bring up the fact that it was the last week of March and in the 60's. it was so warm that the receptionist actually had a box fan running on the flor for her. There is also a bad smell that is quite evident throughout the hotel. Our room was manageable and somewhat clean although the bed was hard and the room had a funky smell. All things we could muddle through with. The next morning we made our way to the exercise room. There are two weight machines, both of which are broken and unusable. There are two exercise bikes, one of which is broken and one elliptical machine which did work. These machines are not what anyone visiting a hotel would be used to, I have seen them in stores like Academy and are the $100-$150 type of machines. Very poor quality. Breakfast was ok, cereal, waffle maker, boiled eggs, yogurt, donuts, and bread. Most of the bread and donuts looked to be old. We weft for the day at that point but I made sure to leave the A/C on in the room with the drapes closed to keep the room cool. Upon returning, the donuts from breakfast were on the front desk for guests to take at 7pm. They must have been out since breakfast time. That being said, we planned for a McDonalds run in the morning for safety! When we returned to our room, it had not been cleaned and the A/C had been turned off and the drapes opened. It was incredibly hot. I went to the front desk for towels and shampoo and also to let them know the room had not been cleaned. They said they have no idea how they could have missed it. My guess is there were so few guests, they did not have staff come in to work so they did not have to pay for cleaning. Whatever you may be coming to Roanoke for, any other location would be a better choice. This place is very disappointing. « less

I stayed at this property 2/19 & 20/13 on business. It was half the cost of the Hampton and Marriott hotels very nearby and for that alone was worth it, but don't expect much. It was clean, but wear was evident on most everything. The bed was firm and fine. The TV only gets about 20 channels and the breakfast was average. The work out room only has an eliptical machine and two pedal machines. The worst part for me was that the hallways smell like smoke, but the room was fine. Overall this was average, like I said just a place to sleep. « less

My father-in-law and I stayed at this location while picking up a new engine for my airplane. The hotel is located very close to Texas Motor Speedway, and the private airport that we needed to be at. The hotel staff was very friendly, the property was maintained well, and the free breakfast was adequate. Even though the hotel had a high school soccer time staying there at the same time, the hallways and room was very quiet and comfortable. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"I had already contacted Marriott prior to finding your site, but you got us a deal $24 cheaper per night than Marriott was willing to offer! Also, since the rooms are blocked for our wedding, the website with our own URL was perfect. This was the most convenient and easy to use service I have encountered since starting to plan the wedding. I had the whole room blocking process done in 48 hours, it saved a lot of time and money. Thanks!" C.T. - Richmond, BC
"Your site provided quick replies on my request. There was more information than I expected and very helpful and useful in making a decision for a group tour trip." T.C. - Bloomington, MN
