We are 10 Minutes from the historic district in downtown. Also we have several attractions for large groups on our exit alone, such as, 15+ restaurants, 5 large shopping centers (mall,wal-mart,target, best buy), an ice skating facility, bowling and all of these are within 2 miles of the hotel.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel the night before we headed out on a cruise and the night we got back. We weren't in the hotel much at all because we were sightseeing. It was an adequate place to stay for the night. The sink and bathroom area were extremely clean. The comforters, floor, and furniture were a little worn but ok. The thing that freaked me out was the huge bug I found on my sister's pillow this morning that had probably creeped in through the large slot between the floor and the door.
The staff was very nice, and they had my favorite breakfast--biscuits and gravy! The staff let us check in EXTREMELY early on a Sunday morning when we got back from the cruise so we didn't have to carry our luggage all over town.
We stayed here because the price was right for us. I'm not much of a picky person, so it was a nice stay for me. « less

I was registered to vote in Charleston and wanted to come down to visit family anyways, so I stayed here Monday night before election day.
I had always seen this property and had my eye on it. It doesn't look that great from the outside, but it is right off the interstate on an exit filled with things to do. I thought (and correctly so) that it would be one of the cheaper places to stay in Charleston. I also assumed it would meet general standards of cleanliness and service, which it actually surpassed.
This property has some of the more polarized reviews I have seen on the site, but a majority of the negative reviews seem to be in the past, so I figure that was a good sign.
I saw the owner and his wife on the property many times while I was there, making me believe that they must be working hard to fix the problems addressed by the earlier reviews. I recommend this as a place to stay. « less

I stayed at this hotel bc it was cheap, close to downtown, and very close to a lot of other things like Tanger outlets, restaurants, etc. It was a very nice experience and I didn't have a single problem. Whenever I needed anything from the front desk, they were friendly and courteous.
I highly recommend checking this place out. From the past reviews, The recent reviews of this place seemed mostly positive, which is why i took the risk. I have to agree with them. Either the rooms are hit or miss and the recent reviewers got lucky or they have seen the negative reviews and actually tried to improve. Even if it is hit or miss, I would still recommend taking the chance bc it is such a good price for what you get. « less
