I'm very sensitive to cigarette smoke and I should have known better by the strong odor of cigarettes in the lobby. The first floor hallway was worse. Leaving the exit door open only sent the smoke down the hall to the non-smoking rooms.
This had the potential for a great stay because it's a decent hotel with a great rate. The front desk staff was excellent and I was pleased with the number and variety of cable channels on the TV. The microwave was great but the refrigerator didn't work very well for some reason.
Unfortunately the strong odor of cigarettes spoiled my stay and made me feel ill. Finally I had to open the window to my room which helped some. By checkout I had a headache, cough and my eyes were bloodshot. I'd think twice before I'd stay here again. « less

This is a great, cute, inexpensive place to stay. It is clean, cozy, and quiet. The front desk folks are incredibly nice, helpful, courteous, and conscientious. I'm puzzled by some of the other reviews about the quality...if you are looking for Ritz Carlton (and want to pay that price! then this is not for you :) It is a simple, safe, quaint place to stay right on the highway with a simple breakfast...and more than I would expect for $50 a night! I would definitely stay there again. It is right across from an all night IHOP, near the highway and major restaurants. If you are on a tight budget as I was, it is just perfect. « less

My husband and I were in Lansing to visit our son at his new job. We decided to stay at this Econo Lodge because it had the best rate in the area. We were sure glad we stayed with them, they had just got done putting in new beds, the service is was so sweet, and the breakfast was more than we expected. We will be staying with them again on our next visit! « less

I can say the people working the desk are friendly and helpful. And they have a free continental breakfast in the morning which let me load up on bananas and hard boiled eggs. If that's not enough for you we were also given 15% off meals across the parking lot at IHOP. « less
