Just needed a place to sleep for 1 night for our weekend shopping trip. Location is good, walking distance to the heart of downtown buffalo and there is a walgreens right next to the hotel. Free parking is a bonus. Check in and check out was good and quick. Staff was friendly and helpful, we were offered a room with a king size bed at 1st but requested to change to one with 2 double beds without any problem. The room was neat and clean although the bathroom was quite small. The only thing to complain was that the housekeeping staff was making quite a bit of noise in the morning and was hitting the door while distributing the newspaper. Overall the hotel could use some updates but it served its purpose of providing us a clean and comfortable room for a night. « less

Just stayed for one evening. I did not eat at restaurant nor had a drink at the bar. It really was just a bed for the night.
Check in and check out was good. My only critique re the process was that I was not able to pay with my Canadian bank debit card. I had to use my credit card. Not a big deal - but I can use my debit card in numerous corner store / mini marts all through Europe, Australia and often in many Caribbean retail outlets. What's with that?
Bed & pillows were very comfortable. Room furnishings & carpet and bathroom a little dated, from what I come to expect from a Holiday Inn.
For the $160 price, one might consider staying at The Comfort Suites downtown as it's closer to bar/social options.
That said, I was visiting The Anchor Bar so it was perfect for that - just a 5 min walk. « less

We stayed here as it was convenient to walk downtown and had free parking. The front desk staff was pleasant and lobby was OK. Room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. Unfortunately we were near the elevator and the housekeeping closet, so at 8:30 AM the staff were in the hall making a great deal of noise while they prepared for their day. Carpets need replacing and the bathroom could have been cleaner. On the plus side, comfortable clean bed and the window opened, which was good because the heater can't be adjusted (we heard other guests complaining about this as well). The price was right so I'd stay again only for the convenience. « less

I dislike the housekeeping employee who knocked our door around 8:30 am asking if she can clean the room.why the rush in doing her job?? & disturbing us unnecessarily?isnt it that check outs are earlier so that they can do their job before the next check in time comes? I just hope the Manager addresses & acts about this. « less
