I was visiting Champaign for my son's commencement event and even tough I tried booking a hotel over 4 months in advance, I could not get any hotel but this one. I had an impression that this was not a great hotel, but since I did not have a choice, I decided to rough it out for the two days. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. The staff was pleasant, the check in was quick and the rooms were clean and comfortable. This would not be my first or even second choice hotel in champaign, but it is not bad at all ! « less

Not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in but a negative experience overall. We hadn't had the best of days and looked forward to a comfortable room for the night. My first impression was "oh no - doesn't look good". The entrance looked like some work was being done but ended before it was finished - unsanded plaster around the door. The individual working behind the desk was far from welcoming - handed me a paper and said "sign this" - but no pen available. The elevator carpet was very dirty and terribly hot & stuffy inside - didn't encourage any confidence that it would actually make it up to the 2nd floor. The heater in the room was blowing and I was unable to turn off the blower - the room was way too hot. The desk clerk did give me a different room - that heater did work but the toilet ran off and on all night long. We skipped the breakfast altogether anxious to leave as soon as possible! We choose this hotel because we only needed a place to sleep and have had good luck with the Quality Inns. However, I would never return to the one in Champaign, Illinois! « less

New carpet in the room, pool was great, hot tub poor (4 people at a time) and the free breakfast in the morning was terrible. If you want a good breakfast, go to a restaurant. « less

This time we stayed in Room 135 that had 2 Queen Beds and a Micro/Fridge. We stayed 2 nights as we were attending World of Outlaw Late Model races in Farmer City, IL - about 20 miles away. Room was clean, beds were comfy - my husband even went back to sleep after breakfast since the bed was so comfy! Breakfast was decent - waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, english muffins, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, oatmeal. Rita did a good job re-stocking items as needed and cleaning up/making sure trash taken out. Looked like guests were enjoying the indoor pool and hot tub. Saw the girls lacrosse team from Wisconsin Univ heading out to play against Illinois Univ. Great location- close to interstate and shopping - can't beat the price! Zero using 20,000 points! « less

The day of check-in my father had a heart attack. I called from the hospital to cancel the reservation but due to their "policy" of not canceling by 4 pm the prior day they charged my parents for the room. When I called the corporate number the lady called this location to see if anything could be done. The manager again refused to waive the charge. The corporate line suggested I file a complaint and transferred me to that department. The complaint department also tried to convince the manager to waive the charge but was unsuccessful. It wasn't about the lost $$$ it was the fact that they obviously have no common courtesy. « less
