We serve fresh baked cookies each afternoon, there is a 24 hour coffee bar with fresh fruit avaliable to our guests at no charge. We are conviently located at exit 52 east bound off the 495 expressway or at exit 53 west bound off the 495 expressway. Our hotel is located just south of the Northen Pky at exit 43 and just west of the Sunken Meadow Pky at SM1. We are at the center of Long Island and a short ride on the LIRR to New York City. I stayed overnight on a weekend and pleasantly surprised at how quiet the rooms were. I am a very light sleeper and doors slamming and noise in the hallway can be very distracting for me. The property is very clean the the front desk staff was very pleasant. The complimentary breakfast is always a nice touch. The waffle machine does require a bit of a wait when it is busy. The king room was spacious and very clean . It was also very nice of the staff to offer a wake-up call when I checked in. In front of the hotel, a very short walk away is a diner that is very good. « less

Have stayed at the Hampton Inn at Commack several times over the past few years. It is a nice hotel, very clean, and the breakfast is outstanding.
That being said, my most recent stay on the weekend of May 27th was a real eye-opener for the fact that I found it hard to believe that people still can't properly parent their children when going to a hotel.
On the weekend my friends and I stayed at the hotel, it seemed like it was dominated by a wedding party. The hotel was packed --- particularly noticeable at breakfast around 9am where it was essentially standing room only. Guests that seated themselves at tables an hour before were refusing to give them up to newly arriving guests as it seemed the party from the night before had continued there. Not much you can do about these kind of things.
What really angered my friends and I were the fact that parents allowed their kids to run up and down the long hallways on the 5th floor floor, screaming back and forth, just after midnight. It seemed like the parents of these screaming monsters probably put them in a separate room on a separate floor where they were totally unsupervised. Maybe this wasn't the case, as 9am the next morning, I heard one of the Mothers (who could clearly be heard in the hallway) encouraging her kids to run down the hall.
Do these people still understand that this is a hotel? People who come here to sleep don't need to be disturbed by kids that aren't properly supervised. « less
