I stayed at this Hotel during a recent 3-day visit (for business with colleagues) - May 8-10, 2013. Beginning with our arrival, the friendly staff greeted us outside and offered a bottle of water and and assistance with luggage. Check-in was smooth, quick and efficient and the rooms were just perfect for the occasion (business) but would have been a bit too small for a pleasure stay (especially the tiny bathroom). The "Starbucks", besides the Lobby, was conveniently opened from 5:30am so that we could get our coffee fix early on ! Although no morning paper was delivered at the room door, many copies were readily available at the main Lobby area. Although no check-out bill was delivered to the room, this was done very rapidly before our very early departure. The business center is opened 24/7 and permitted us to do our flight check-in on line. The Hotel is right in the middle of downtown so that you are only minutes away from everything (the many watering holes and good restaurants). Overall, well-recommended for business stay. « less

The staff attended to every need and run a top notch operation. Even questions and shortfalls are handled with total concern for the customer experience. I spent over a week here, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The first room had a faulty A/C unit, so I ended up with a better view. Breakfast is awesome, as only the americans could do it. Gallons of fresh OJ, good coffee, pancakes and French toast. A serious risk of weight increase. One gripe: why must they play inappropriately loud music in the lobby and the lifts? This seems to be a general situation in Indianapolis - all the restaurants play music on the sidewalk (pavement, I mean). « less

Next morning breakfast buffet was excellent. Healthy options as well as traditional favorites. Front desk staff was impeccable. Only negatives were loud fan in room heating system and shortage of bathroom shelf space. All else was A+ « less

I'd never been to Indianapolis, and needed to organize a two-day meeting in a central location. I chose the Omni in large part because it had great rates on Expedia given the hotel rating. They lived up to it - the staff was wonderfully helpful in accommodating our needs (space, catering, a/v support, etc.) as well as basics like airport transportation and restaurant recommendations. The location is within walking distance of great restaurants and downtown attractions, so no rental car needed. The 1913 restaurant, Severin bar, and in-house Starbucks made it super easy to grab something quick when time was tight.
The rooms could have been quieter (loud a/c & heat, loud vent outside, street noise,) and could use a little refurbishing (frayed linens,) but were perfectly comfortable. And if you join the loyalty program, you get free WiFi. If I need to return to Indy, I'll return to the Omni. « less
