Breakfast was included in the price and it has good selection, cold food, oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, etc. Basic buffet fare. Got boring after a week, but that is okay. « less

Our agency has used this location for several years in a row now for our annual 2 day conference. This year's service from the DoubleTree by Hilton was nothing less than great! The hotel staff was very cooperative during the planning process and their customer service continued to shine through during conference implementation. The sales, catering, and media staff made sure that our needs were met during both days of the conference. The meeting space was set up appropriately upon our arrival, the food was of a great quality, and AV service was wonderful. Thank you DoubleTree by Hilton-Raleigh-Brownstone for another great year and for the yummy, warm cookies! « less

I arrived two weeks ago to this hotel, and I was impressed immediately with the staff and the ambience of the hotel. The rooms have been updated nicely, and even though this is an old building, it has a 'fresh' look about it. I was here as part of a conference also being held at this hotel, and the staff has been great about accomodating our requests as a group, and individual requests.
The hotel is only a few blocks away from downtown Raleigh, and only a block away from a few great restuarants and NC State University campus. A nice 'vibe' surrounding the area.
The front desk staff is very eager to help with any requests. A special 'shout out' to Marie, who was continuously helpful with any question or request I had during my stay. Thanks Marie!
I would recommend this hotel for business or leisure - nice and quiet and convenient ! « less

Older hotel and not up to the Doubletree standards and in need of remodel. More like a old Holiday Inn the a Hilton chain hotel. Elevator was old and a little scary. Door room locks did not work well and got locked out of my room multiple times. Breakfast service was poor and the food was only so so. « less

I stayed here with a friend this past weekend, and as soon as I checked into the hotel, the first thing i texted to my buddy who hadn't gotten to the hotel yet is, my god, this isn't a doubletree, it's a motel 6 with Doubletree furniture! now don't get me wrong, this hotel is perfectly fine, but it's not a Doubletree. It's a traditional motel building, complete with old Soviet era-style concrete motel balconies with the parking along the side of the building. the sliding glass balcony doors are also old and hard to work, and they don't block out much of the outside sounds. there was some street work going on across the street, and it was very loud in the room, even with the balcony door closed. the bathrooms are also really small and are clearly motel style bathrooms. but that being said, they fixed up the front lobby of the hotel nicely, and they have the nice Doubletree furniture in the rooms, so the rest of the rooms are nice. The beds are actually great and very comfortable. and everything is clean, and the people working at the hotel are really nice and helpful too. the location is okay. it's near the NC State campus and is a little less than a mile away from downtown Raleigh. there are a few bars and restaurants a very short walk from the hotel. « less
