I rented 2 rooms. The rooms are in desperate need of upgrade. The baseboards were pulled away from the walls and the carpet was so worn out in places that created a hazard. In fact, I tripped on the carpet. The tv remote didn't work in one of the rooms and we had to get assistance on that. The smoke detector in the other room started to "chirp". I was told by the person at the front desk that there wasn't anyone else on duty that night and to take the battery out. It still "chirped". Made another trip to the front desk and asked for a battery so I could replace it. There was Super 8 advertisement on the desk that had food splattered on it. Very tacky. « less

Mattress and pillows were OK; shower pressure OK, HVAC worked well, breakfast was a nice dollar-saver; staff was helpful. « less

Dear David, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your concerns with our Super 8. Over the past year we have been in the process of upgrading/renovating the hotel. Unfortunately, this is a time consuming task. In 12 months time we have purchased all new mattresses and box springs, new bed toppers and curtains, all new paint scheme, and granite sink and counter tops in our guest bathrooms just to mention a few. We are in the process of replacing/repairing all bath tubs and replacing all carpeting within the entire hotel. As a consumer, I know what I expect when traveling. Unfortunately you experienced a time when we are in the middle of our upgrade/renovations. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you on your next visit to our area. Please call me directly so that I may assist you personally with your travel needs.

This is a clean, serviceable, inexpensive motel in the Chicago southwest suburban area. It is very near Midway Airport and convenient if you have to overnight. Both the night clerk when I checked in and the day clerk when I checked out were friendly and helpful with questions and requests. The room and the bathroom were clean and fine. Refrigerator in the room. No problem sleeping. It looks like the place has been recently renovated and the bathroom fixtures were new. Internet and local calls are free. There was a wide range of breakfast items -- simple, but OK.
The few very small negatives that I can think of: I would have liked better lighting in the room, and a second chair. It's kind of far from downtown, so if that's where you need to be you should stay there. But if you are looking for something less expensive, you won't find anything closer or better for the price.
A few of the previous recent reviews of this motel have been very negative. They almost scared me away, but I'm glad I didn't let them. I didn't experience anything like what they described. Some of them sound like the writers were expecting 5-star luxury at a 2-star location and for a 2-star price. If you need the Ritz, go there and pay for it. But if you want a clean decent place to stay at a good price, and don't need to be right downtown, this is a good place for you. Normal clean accommodations and an excellent value. « less

I enjoy my stay. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I have been staying at this hotel Sun Thru Fri since December of 2012. It is convenient to where I work. Not all rooms are equipped with microwaves (Like the ad says) but the staff always makes sure that I have one. I would recommend this hotel for anyone. « less
