We stayed here for a week, and enjoyed the convenient location to shopping and dining. Porto's Bakery is where we went for breakfast every morning, just a few doors down. Great coffee, pastries, and Cuban sandwiches!
Our room was small but clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We never had any problem with noise; it was quiet during our stay. The WIFI worked well. We never got the hang of using the remote for the TV, and could not find any directions. We were out from morning till night, and only used the room for sleeping. We never saw any other hotel guests the entire time we were there.
While we loved the location, the number of stairs that we had to climb got a little old after a few days. We were visiting family so we left our suitcases and just brought our backpacks to the hotel. We were on the second floor, so we had to climb nearly 50 steps up to our room. If you add the 16 steps from the second floor BOA parking lot, you would have a total of 66 stairs each time.
There was construction for the hotel on the street level fronting Brand during our stay (although we never heard any noise in our room). « less

I looked for a hotel in Glendale from Hotwire, so I had no idea which one I'll end up with. I just didn't want to spend a lot for a couple nights stay. Of course I'd want a clean & comfortable room, but I'm not too fussy. I selected 2 1/2 star rating place from Hotwire. That's how I ended up with Brandwood. I think this place could be Hotwire 3 star, but probably 1/2 star missing is due to no elevator. It didn't bother me at all. They have free parking in Bank of America parking lot which is back of the hotel building. A lot of restaurants are within walking distance.
Rooms here may be small for American standard, but not bad at all. I'm assuming construction is over as I didn't hear any noise and the room I stayed seemed all remodel and done. « less

Old hotel. Needs updating badly, though evidently that is in process.
I was in updated room #209 but still much to be desired. Old carpet. Drapes don't really close. Air/heat is through a wall unit that is completely blocked by drapes. Should have had half-drapes to allow wall unit to function. As result, room air was stale. Window opened to dark alley and building roof next door so appeared not safe to leave open. Bathroom sink was new but style required leaning over so far that my head almost hit wall.
Room was very small with too much furniture. Large cabinet instead of closet. Room designed for a giant: door's peephole was too high to see out of even if on my toes (I am 5'6"); cabinet hangers were literally a stretch to reach but cabinet so short that even a knee-length dress hit the bottom of cabinet when on hanger. Stall shower only, with water spout in the ceiling, coming directly down on top of head. No way to move the shower head unless you are at least 7 feet tall. All plumbing worked well. Refrigerator in room stocked with items for purchase but still usable for your own items.
Bad stuff: No elevator! Staff will help tote luggage to and from car but you have to walk up one very, very steep flight of stairs to even get to the lobby. Parking is through a dark alley, then a walk up an un-lit flight of un-lit stairs to un-lit lot.
Good stuff: Probably very best mattress I've ever head and I travel dozens of time per year, often staying in 4 to 5 star hotels. Location was good but poor signage made it hard to find. Free wi-fi worked very well. Lots of restaurants in same block. « less

Have stayed at this hotel during my last 10 trips to the area. Location is close to the freeway as well as walking distance to the Americana on Brand. It's also close to a plenty of fun eateries and local cocktail establishments. Portos Bakery is just down the street - a must try! The restaurant and bar on the ground floor below the hotel is descent. They do have live jazz music, so this may pose a problem if you're on the lower floor of the hotel and an early to bed, early to rise traveler. Beds are phenomenal and rooms are clean! The singles I have stayed in are very European - small, and its never been a problem. The hotel is undergoing some renovations at the moment - just an FYI. Comfortable spot for business travelers. The staff has always been more than pleasant and helpful. A few need to knows: parking is on 2nd floor of the BofA parking structure behind the hotel. This has never really been a big deal, yet please note, stairs are the only access to the 2nd level of the garage, unless you want to walk down the parking structure ramp. Keep the parking pass so you can use it the next time without having to walk back to your car to place on your dash. Also, the hotel is on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building and there are no elevators. The stairs are steep, so this may pose problems for elderly, or if you're a heavy packer. Enjoy, and safe travels! « less
