They were renovating our floor, but they were nice enough to inform us. This boutique hotel is very nice and modern. Rooms were small, but hey I was in Paris and I hardly spent it in my room. Next to alot of different parisian and non-parisian cuisine. Near Pachanga club which I loved! Next to the train and supermarket. When I come back to Paris I will stay here again. I loved the area not as turistic and I felt a great sense of parisian culture. So many bistro's to choose from. The front desk staff were marvelous and they do hold your luggage just in case you arrive early from your flight. My only complaint was that the bed was a bit uncomfortable so my back was hurting BUT I did walk alot too. « less

My wife and I had a lovely long weekend break at Le M. We stayed in a basic Classic room on the 4th floor which was comfortable and a reasonable size. We asked for a kettle and took our own coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's 5 mins walk from metro at Montparnasse. Rue de la Gaite is lively with several good restaurants (eg Le Plomb du Cantal) and cafes (we didn't have breakfast at the hotel). There's a little market on Edgar Quinet, there's the cemetary and the Catacombes nearby (long queue on Sunday morning) - so there's lots to see locally but it's easy to get to all the attractions. There can be a bit of street noise so remember to take your ear plugs but all in all this was a great place to stay, friendly and good value. « less

We arrived to the 4 Star hotel amidst repairs, and the state of our floor was quite disappointing. The hallway was being wallpapered, and the workers were inconvenienced by us needing to move around them. The smell of glue was quite overwhelming, and worrisome given that I'm pregnant. I explained my concerns to the hotel staff and they said they couldn't move us until the following day despite the hotel feeling very empty. Annoyingly, the bathroom sink didn't drain well and the noise from the Saturday street kept all four of us awake.
The staff were all lovely and apologetic, but I definitely won't be returning given there was no concession for staying there amidst the chaos. « less

Tucked away in rue de la gaite, close to Gare Montpnarnasse for TGV, and Gaité, montparnasse-bienvenue and Edgar quinet metro stations. Spoilt for choice. The hotel was well located for public transport and if coming from CDG, the Air France bus. We arrived early and rooms weren't ready so the staff were happy to hold our luggage. The rooms are as per photos on their website, beautiful, modern, spacious enough and a spacious bathroom with great shower head and heated towel rack. Also provided was a safe, tv, desk and trouser press. The bed was large and comfortable and we both felt this was the best boutique hotel we had stayed at in Europe so far. There are small works going on I. The hotel such as repainting of walls but nothing that ever affected our stay. Its very close to many theatres so on weekend morning we could hear the people outside but we were on the first floor overlooking the theatre so expected it, The cleaning staff were always happy to say bonjour. We checked out very early (5:15am) and even at that hour, the concierge Emmanuel, was very nice and patient with us as we had misunderstood and thought our booking had been prepaid. He gave us time to logon to our account to confirm it had not been charged at booking. A big thank you to him for his help in locating taxis although in the end we just took the metro! Would recommend and return to Hotel Le M.
P.S: there are alot of different cuisines close to the hotel but take the time to find some of the great French bistros and patisseries up the road near Edgar quinet. « less

We're just back from a 4 night stay in this lovely hotel. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful and the cleaning staff were very friendly. Some people have commented that there was noise due to the on-going renovations and, to be honest, we were only aware of some intermittent hammering at about 9am - nothing too serious or enough to spoil my day. There was actually a note left in the room informing us about the renovations and, I have to say, there is never a good time to do work in a hotel is there? The location of this place is great too with everything you need a few steps away. We didn't have the hotel breakfast but certainly didn't starve - there are loads of places to choose from. There are a few video sex shops around but DON'T let that put you off. The area is bustling during the day but quiet at night. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would definately return « less
