Green Sustainability

Recycle:*We are proud to be a part of the Clean the World program that converts unused and leftover soap from our guest rooms into usable soap for those in developing countries. In 2012, we diverted 1,250 pounds of waste, which created 4,032 new bars of soap for those in need.*We recycle glass, paper and cardboard.Water and Energy*We have reduced our energy consumption by converting steam purchased from the City of Denver into heat for our water supply and building.*CFL light bulbs are installed in all of our public spaces including our Lounge and Ballroom.*Motion sensors are installed in all of our housekeeping closets, trash shoots and linen shoots.*Our cooling systems are equipped with Variable Frequency Devices (VFDs) to adjust energy used by our cooling system to match the level of energy demand.*We turn off our laundry machinery during low occupancy dates to ensure that we only use machines at full capacity.*Guests are invited to participate in our water saving program by reusing their towels and sheets.*Water is saved by decreasing the number of room linens changed to once a week unless otherwise requested by guests.Paper*We currently communicate service orders using a paperless operating system. All work orders are submitted into our network by computer and hand-held devices.*We strive for all of our stationary to be printed on recycled paper.*100% of the paper we use in our offices is recycled.*Printed newspapers are available to guests only upon request.*All of our employee and public restrooms use cordless toilet paper.*Paper cups have been eliminated from our employee eating area.*Guests are presented with the option to receive their invoice by email instead of a printed copy.Chemicals*Kitchen drains are cleaned using BioEze, an organic enzyme that digests grease and otherwise hazardous chemicals.*Our hotel uses only low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) paint to prevent exposing our guests and employees from harmful gasses and chemicals typically found in commercial paint products.*All of our guest room cleaning supplies are eco-friendly and hypoallergenic*We have converted from solid laundry detergent, to a safer and more eco-friendly liquid alternative.Food and Beverage*All of our beef is Colorado sourced to support our local ranchers and farmers.*All of the meat we serve is natural and hormone-free.*100% of our fish is farm raised to ensure sustainable sourcing.*We support our local breweries by featuring them on tap at Harry's Bar & Grill.*We have eliminated Foie Fras from our menu.
