My over all impression of the room was depressing. I did not enjoy my stay here because I was never comfortable being in the room. The floor was cracked in many places which I could easily see and feel through the un-padded, wrinkling, stained carpet. The wallpaper is peeling in places, the shower curtain bar was almost falling out of the wall. I'm only 5'7" and I had to bend down significantly to get my head under the shower so if you're tall you will hate it. They charge a dollar a day to use the safe even though the room had one installed. Two of the five nights I found hair in my "freshly made bed." one of the other nights the sheets were stained. I did not need to do laundry there but from the look of the machines and the laundry room I wouldn't have risked it anyway. They only supply paper drinking cups and cannot provide you with actual glasses; I asked and they could not have cared less. Breakfast was OK, though it was exactly the same every day with limited selection. The pool is still closed as I'm sure you will read in subsequent reviews. The TV has about 20 stations and the remote was pretty filthy. It's not all bad though... The sheets, and most of the towels were soft. The trees and greenery surrounding the closed pool is very pleasant to look at. I have stayed at another hotel in the area for similar price and had a very pleasant experience, but avoid this one. « less

Dear Vraftsman,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We sincerely apologize for the less than satisfactory stay. Based on your review, either your review was referred to sometime ago or you have stayed with us in the past . If so, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be in your service again.
We provide safety box in every guestrooms for valuables to be stored and a nominal charge of $1 per night was charged as you mentioned in the review; however this policy has been changed for almost a year now that if you were recently charged for the safe, then we'll be happy to issue you a credit. Please contact us with the receipt showing a "safe warranty fee" from your recent stay with us so that we'll be gladly process a refund.
As for the glasses, again we used to provide them in every guest room, but it is not the case and we apologize if you felt our staff wasn't helpful or "cared less." We don't have and provide glasses at the front desk and the information you have received from our FD staff were correct.
We are currently getting ready for a renovation. We appreciate feedbacks, positive or negative, from our valued guests and we thank you for again for your time and business.

This property is WAY overdue for a remodel. It's been some time since I've stayed in a Ramada and I never realized that they have declined so much in comparison to other business hotels. Threadbare carpet, mildew in the shower stall (with tiles circa 1960) and disgusting laundry room. I actually went elsewhere to do my laundry. The grounds are actually very nice and well-kept, so the condition of the rooms was surprising. Let me be clear: They weren't dirty - the housekeeping staff appears to be doing the best they can. It's just that the rooms are SO run down that nothing can really make them feel like something you want to sleep in. Something else business hotels need to realize is how critical it is to have a functioning WiFi network. I had to move rooms to get closer to an access point just so I could conduct business. The staff was initially resistant to this, saying that there was a router 'every four rooms' and there 'must be something wrong with my computer'. Helpful Hint: many business travelers actually have significant experience with computers and condescending to them doesn't usually go over well. I actually had to show one of the staff with my iPad that there was literally no coverage inside my room before they agreed to move me. Overall, a pretty negative experience. « less

Dear Jeff H,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay on TripAdvisor. We value your business and feedbacks, both positive and negative. We are very sorry to learn that your recent stay with us was less than satisfactory.
As you mentioned, we are an older property, due for renovation and it is scheduled! We appreciate your positive feedbacks on grounds of the property yet we are very sorry about condition of the guestrooms.
According to our Manager on Duty reports, your concern about Wi-Fi in room 256 was brought to our attention on the 2nd day of your stay and one of my FD staff, General Manager as well as myself were all present at the time. Our GM advised you that there was no Wi-Fi issues reported to our attention at that time and your concern was noted. Each routers cover approximately 6 rooms (not 4 as you mentioned) and our wireless service is outsourced. From our records, we were unable to accommodate you to a same type of room due to almost sold out situation; rather you were moved to a different type of room (RM 130) and when I personally spoke with you, Wi-Fi seemed to be working better than a previous room. With this said, we are sorry the way situation was handled and you felt condescending.
Jeff H, we know you had many hotels to choose from and we thank you for choosing Ramada Silicon Valley. We appreciate your business and comments.
