The views in this hotel are wonderful and it is close to many places, location wise it is perfect. The rooms however are less than desirable. We were in a King Whirlpool room with a pullout couch. The room was not very clean and the shower had a lot of mould and mildew. The carpet in the room was very stained as well and looked very dingy. The cushions in the couch were also stained and dirty. When I stay at a Marriott I do expect a better room, this was our second stay at this hotel and both times I found cleanliness to be an issue. I will however say the rooms are pretty quiet, not a lot of hall noise gets through and that is appreciated. The staff I encountered were all friendly. Also, one thing that bothers me with many hotels is no free WiFi in the rooms. When you are paying the prices they charge for the room they should have free WiFi. « less

This is a great place to stay our room on the 19th floor had amazing views of the Falls.Staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved the buffet breakfast included with our room rate at Milestones. This hotel is in a great locationwith great views you have to get a fallsview room it is well worth the extra money. The only let down was the high price we were charged for the Falls tour the only one the hotel offers we paid 302.00 dollars for 2 people to do the Falls sights maid of the mist etc Jeannie the tour director / tour guide was fantsstic. But we could have got the wego pass takes you to all attractions plus entrance fees for about 110.00 for the 2 of us so buyer beware. If it wasnt for the fact that we eere jet lagged we would have looked around for a better price. But would highly recommend this hotel and would return if we ever went to the falls again. « less

Spent 2 nights at Mariott Gateway Niagara Falls, The Falls view room I stayed in was spacious clean and with unbeatable view of Horseshoe Falls. Excellent location. everything within easy walking distance. Only negative is that WIFI is only free in the lobby area. As a Scandinavian traveller I expect this at all hotels. « less

My husband and I brought our 3 small children along with my mom here for a Mothers Day/birthday trip for all of the adults. We booked a 2 bedroom suite here and were excited to try a different Marriott. We always have stayed at the Fallsview Marriott when we come - and we are here maybe 5-6 times a year at least - over the last 12 years.
What a mistake - and stick with the Fallsview! When we first arrived, the valet was nice and the check in associate (Carlos) was very nice. We were given a room on the top floor so we thought all was well. Nope....
My Marriott Gold account preferences states that we do not want a room near the elevator. Where are we? First door after the elevator. The room is ok - definitely needs room upgrades. The shower heads are very narrow and do not give a wide spray at all. The shower door in the master was very flimsy - if you pushed on the door beyond just a 2 finger approach, the whole shower shook. There is black putty on the window of the master that is very evident and it runs all through the main bedroom windows as well. So much so that our two boys had it all over there hands when they touched the windows to look out at the view. (I will state the view is a plus for this property). There was also hair (not ours!) in the whirlpool tub as well so I cleaned that up with sanitizing wipes we had.
I was given tickets for breakfast in the concierge lounge tomorrow. If the lounge is for concierge access only, why do I need tickets? Same thing for hors d'ouvres tonite. Not a single person in this hotel other than Carlos have said hello, smiled or even acknowledged us as we walk by. Then the valet.....
We took the car out for dinner and when we came back, we sat waiting for valet for about 7 minutes. My husband finally went inside to find someone, and the people were gone from the Information desk, valet, and there was a line at check in. We finally got someone to help us, but he said he would just give our keys to the valet. When he pointed to the valet employee, he was standing there talking to another employee and oblivious to everyone else. We said we were taking the kids up to the room with my mom and then my husband and I would be heading out in under 20 minutes. We were told that the car would be waiting for us. We came down less than 15 minutes later and the car was gone. We had to track the valet down again - this time he was in the bar talking to the bartender and not watching the lot at all. We handed him the ticket, and without a word, he took the ticket and just left to get the car. Never checked our names or anything when he handed us the keys, We were out for a couple of hours and when we came back, guess who we could not track down - AGAIN? We finally found him and he just said, "oh, it's you. Leave the keys and I will take care of it". Sure - it's us.
The hallways are freezing cold, the service is average at the very best and the rooms are not up to Marriott standards. This is my 5th Marriott stay in 3 weeks and my first at this property. It will also be my last stay at this property. My next trip, I will check in at the Marriott Fallsview with open arms and apologize for even remotely thinking I could do something better than there in the Falls area.
We are still here right now so everyone can sleep and recharge, but I am already looking forward to our checkout tomorrow. At least I know we will encounter people with manners and attentiveness in any place we visit tomorrow. Very disappointed « less
