A real mixed bag. An impressive exterior to the hotel greets you following a quick walk from the train station. We were here for one nights stay and had a really large triple room with a corner aspect on the first floor. Decor was a little tired - particularly in the bathroom but generally was acceptable. The bed for my daughter was already made up which is always a good sign.
Big minus point - no tea or coffee facilities in room.
We found the staff at reception to be ok on checkin but they made no attempt to talk or even acknowledge us when we walked out or back in again on two occasions which is a little odd (especially as there was no one else about)
After a fine evening out we struggled to get to sleep because - a) the bed was very uncomfortable and seemed like two old rollaway beds pushed together (in fact my daughters rollaway bed was better!) b) The noise from outside was so loud I even checked to see if I'd left a window open. This may not have been helped by the fact that Bayern Munich had won that night and the fans were out in force and also because the hotel is on a busy corner of the town. Plus the windows were huge and old and probably dont offer much sound proofing.
Breakfast was pleasant in a lovely room and overall the stay was reasonable value and I would recommend a visit to this lovely town but I think I might choose to stay somewhere else next time.
Although I've marked this as average if we'd had a decent sleep in a decent bed I'd have marked it 4 stars but I think it's the worst bed I've slept in. « less

This was once a magnificent hotel on the edge of the Regensburg Altstadt and close to the main railway station. The glory is slightly faded now and some parts of the hotel could do with a refresh but we had a well decorated spacious double room for a very good price (125 euros inc. breakfast). The bathroom and toilet in our room had been recently refurbished and the beds were comfortable if slightly hard. Whilst the reception area was slightly faded breakfast was served in a magnificent room with a very high ceiling, chandeliers, floor to ceiling mirrors, gilt decoration etc. Breakfast was the usual German buffet selection of hot and cold food and the coffee was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. « less

We stayed for three nights in December for the Christmas markets. Arriving by train was a breeze as the hotel is within easy walking distance. The staff was wonderful during check in and had all completed in short order. The location is very convenient to all activities, shopping and dining. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Of special note is the breakfast buffet. Everything was fresh and ready in the morning and all laid out in wonderful presentation. The breakfast room itself was beautifully decorated in the classic Baroque-style.To top it off, the Christmas decorations in the room were wonderful and set the room off with a warmth befitting the finest Bavarian Gemütlichkeit. We will definitely stay there again. « less

This hotel is located in a very fascinating XIX century building, it looks like a 'palace'. It was very easy to find by car, they have a garage at a reasonable price. The interesting part of Regensburg is only a few minutes walking from the hotel. We had a triple room (with an extra bed for our daughter). The room was extremely spacious, modern (it looked completely renewed). Everything in the room worked perfectly. Spacious bathroom with separate toilet. Very good breakfast, in a wonderful historical hall. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. We got a very convenient rate, so the quality/price ratio was very good. Highly recommended. We couldn't try the Botticelli's Restaurant because it was closed that day, but there are other interisting dining options at walking distance from the hotel. « less

"I had never heard of your website, but my nephew has hotel experience and mentioned it. This is the first time I have had to book a block of rooms for a family wedding, and I was somewhat concerned about how to go about it. Your website made it easy, and and I would highly recommend it." K.C. - Catskills, NY
