We were accommodated in the apartments which are connected to hotel and share a reception desk. The apartment was spacious, meticulously clean and well equipped. WC is separated from the bathroom. Some of the furniture is quite new and some not so much but it's OK in general. There is a flat-screen TV and a small library. It is located in a rather quiet street 2 metro stations from the city core (Stephanplatz). Metro station is 7-10 minutes by foot. Stephanplatz is 35-45 (depending on speed) minutes away by foot so I wouldn't recommend this walk for the way back. There is a nice parking under the hotel and it's 12 euros/day. It's safer and cheaper than to park on the street for the whole day for 14 euros. You should be aware that there is a 35 euro cleaning bill and there's no elevator for the apartments. We had a very pleasant stay here. « less

Vienna was the second stop on our trip after Prague and we arrived by train and took a cab to the hotel (9eur). The place is located about 2-3 mins walk from the bus stop (59A) which connects to the main city at Karlsplatz from where you are about 10 mins from everything and 20 mins from Schonbrunn. The bus ride in itself takes about 10 mins. So while the location is a little away from the city center, its about 20 mins from most attractions, so shouldn't be a problem. Also there are quite a few restaurants right next to the hotel which looked nice. We got upgraded to the studio and had a view of the rooftops of Vienna from our verandah, which although not too great, was kind of nice in the evenings. The room was well equipped and even had a microwave and cooking range in case you want to make your own small meals. The living room was comfortable with a large sofa and a TV (we never used it :)) and there was free Wi-Fi throughout. The bedroom had a nice queen bed and had windows which we left open in the night as there was no air conditioning in the bed room. The only complaint we had was that the bathroom was a little small and felt a little out of place in this otherwise fairly spacious studio. Also being on the top floor, sometimes we had to wait a long while to get the lift which seemed rather slow :) The breakfast was adequate, although not too great, but they have a wide variety of teas and a coffee machine which was good. The reception staff was fairly helpful to us and they do keep the day transport tickets as well as the Vienna card, but didn't have the 48 hr ticket, which we needed. Travel to the airport is fairly comfortable with the bus to the train station followed by the airport bus (45 mins,8eur). Given the price of the hotel and the service level, I would have to say that we were quite satsified with the place. « less

I got a good price on a single room, which had a large clean bathroom and was large enough for two people who would be out most of the day. There was enough storage space for me, but not for two people staying more than a weekend, in my opinion. Room 314 was on the street side and was very quiet. In the 4 days I stayed there, all the staff was friendly with the exception of one minorly grumpy person. Breakfast was included in the price and had enough variety to be satisfying. The only drawback is that if you wanted coffee or tea outside of breakfast it cost 2.80 euros for a miserly cup with no refills. I bought tea at one of the nearby stores and used hot water form the tap to make tea. The hotel is near several shopping stores (Billa food, Bipa cosmetics, travel) and restaurants and bakeries (on and near the square). You can get to Westbahnhof Metro by taking the 18 or 6 tram from Matzleinsdorferplatz, or by taking the 14A or 59 bus to Pilgramgasse Metro. The staff is familiar with these options. I will stay here again when I am next in Vienna. « less

The hotel is somewhat off the beaten track but we love public transportation so that wasn't a problem. Interesting restaurants in the neighborhood. Room was clean and spacious, absent air conditioning. (We were there in a heat wave.) Staff, especially the concierge, was extremely helpful and accommodating. Great breakfast. « less
