The first impression
The place where you will hear your name rather than your room number.
In a matter of seconds, find total quiet and calm having left the noise of the city behind you.
You are now in Hotel ALEXANDROS. So close to your obligations yet so far from the busy and noisy scenery of the center of Athens.
Welcome! We' ve been expecting you...
That is precisely our intention, for you to feel that the warmth, order and beauty in everyday objects, which surround you, are genuine.
The whiteness of the marble bath, the order, the subtle of color and neatness will make you feel that you've been expected and happily received.
This is our intention.

While this hotel is very very convienent if you are in town for work or for a medical visit or just looking for non-downtown bargain on a decent hotel, the rooms are badly in need of an update. Visible water damage to wall paper, dirty carpet, worn/beat-up hallways...it could be so nice with a fresh coat of...well...everything and some insulation to keep the noise at bay. The hotel staff are very helpful and kind, so I can't fault that, it just needs some TLC. « less

It’s hard to find something positive regarding the Hotel Alexandros … all I can really come up with is that the shower is powerful and the water hot!!!
I could now produce paragraph after paragraph covering the problems with this hotel but rather than bore you all to death, I’ll just give you an outline:
Reception area – chairs with torn and tired fabric, photo of the owner (I guess) of the Aerotel chain (who should be ashamed), Trip Advisor 4-star rating certificate from 2010!
Corridors – old wallpaper often hanging off the walls, broken doors to cleaning cupboards, worn carpet.
Bedroom – old fridge virtually empty trying to emulate a minibar, poor lighting, broken door handle to the bathroom, broken hangers, faded wallpaper, old thin bed linen, old thin bathroom towels sometimes torn, old shower curtain, shower that is positioned perfectly to flood the bathroom even with the curtain used, wall-mounted hairdryer that could be from the 1930s that is of no use at all, bath that is only suitable for a small child, heating system that only blows cold air regardless of the setting, paper-thin walls.
Restaurant – soulless room, chairs covered as if for a wedding but in dirty old cream (I think) covers.
Breakfast – poor quality hot offering that seems to be left standing until it congeals, lots of dull cakes, poor selection of cereals, watered-down juices that are so sharp you have to steel yourself before swallowing.
Wifi – wifi is available with no charge in all areas including bedrooms but you get cut off after an hour and have to login again. You can pay to stay on for longer periods but why would you do that?
Location – business district mixed in with low quality apartments. A few shops and fast-food cafes within walking distance but nothing for Athens to be proud of.
I was here on business and therefore my client (PWC) booked and paid for this hotel. I can only assume they arranged a very low rate! My heading says it all – tired, worn and miserable .... not just the hotel but how it makes you feel after a few days!! « less

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel for a business trip. The main drawback is the lack of noise insulation from other guests. There was a group of school kids making noise until 3-4 AM. Obviously this had no positive effect on my meetings in the next day... The hotel itself could use a refurbishment as the rooms are quite dated.
There are a number of positives as well leading to the 'average' score: - The location is relatively convenient as there this a metro station close by - There are sufficient places for eating and drinking within 1-2 minutes walk - There is a small convenience store close - The company rate provided was quite low - The staff speaks good English and is available 24h/day - The breakfast is ok
Conclusion: this hotel will not be my first choice next time I am in Athens « less

Dear Guest,
Thank you for staying with us whilst travelling to Athens on business during April.
Guest satisfaction is our primary concern and we regret that on this occasion we were unable to fulfill this commitment. We have noted your comments and would like to express our sincere apologies for the disappointment caused to you. May we also take this opportunity to inform you that Airotel Alexandros is in the procedure of a small renovation during this period. Moreover, please note that the noise had to do with the school groups' return form a night out. We assure you there is always a night shift to check for noise during school groups. Unfortunately, it takes a while until they settle down in the rooms. In addition the management of the hotel always tries to accommodate school groups in different floors, in order to avoid unpleasant situations like this.
Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to Airotel Alexandros on your next visit to Athens.
Kind Regards,
Evangelopoulos Thodoris Front Office Manager

Alexandros Hotel has the best location, excellent buffet breakfast, free parking, free wifi in room, and caring staff, but the hotel is in need of major updating. The rooms, furniture, wallpaper, carpeting, are all in very worn condition. Even though the bathroom is marble, it also is in need of updating. « less
