Property description

The New Orleans Jazz Quarters is ideally situated in the heart of all things New Orleans. Just steps from the famous French Quarter and next door to Armstrong National Jazz Park, we are in the neighborhood referred to as Faubourg Tremé, which is currently enjoying a renaissance. Our neighbors include the Faubourg Marigny, whose Frenchmen Street is well known for entertainment, and the Bywater neighborhood, also undergoing a revitalization.

The Jazz Quarters is a study in gracious southern appeal. Its charming brick courtyards with beautiful, well established gardens are a perfect place to relax and plan the day's activities or to reflect on them at the end of the day. Our Creole cottages, some dating back to the early 1800's, suggest the allure of old New Orleans. Most accommodations have traditional high ceilings and are loaded with antique or faux antique furniture.

One of our most popular features is our large gated parking lot, with secure off-street parking for up to 12 cars. It has also been used as a venue for private receptions of up to 200 people.

Originally established in 1993 as the Garlands Guest House and Creole Cottages by Kermit and Paula Garland, it has enjoyed an excellent reputation during it's tenure as a guest house. It has always been known for it's excellent breakfasts, and the friendliness of the staff. It was purchased by David Chadwick in 2004 and continued to operate as the Garlands. We purchased the Garlands in April 2011 and, after completing an extensive remodel, changed the name to the Jazz Quarters to better reflect the culture of New Orleans and Tremé.

Testimonials:

"When people provide customer friendly service in today’s world, it should be applauded! So many businesses have taken almost and adversarial attitude towards the customer, in other words, they over compensate for a consumer not following through. As a business, it is my understanding, that the business should always follow through and do as they promise! Loyalty between consumers and businesses should remain alive, profit above service is a bad plan and will cost the business in the long run!" R.F. - Denver, CO
