The Courtyard Midtown is a wonderful property, all rooms have balconies. The location is great near lots of shopping and dining. It is also just a short drive to the historic district. The staff is very friendly and gave us an outside facing room as we didn’t want the fishbowl effect of being in the courtyard itself. There is a small pool, an indoor hot tub and adequate workout room with modern equipment. They have a free breakfast buffet in the morning - the area doubles as a café for lunch and dinner. The internet was speedy and the water pressure was good. The hotel was quiet at night even though they were very full. The only criticisms I have is the toilet paper was one ply Scott – the stuff we called “sandpaper” in summer camp, the bed was stiff – not the ultra-plush we are used to and the room layout was, for lack of a better word, strange. The bed was on the short wall facing the sliding door and that put the large TV to the left of the bed, making it impossible to watch TV in bed. The work station with the TV and fridge should be on the long wall with the bed facing it. Even with the slight criticisms, this is a nice property with good staff, amenities and location. We will certainly stay here again – just remember to bring our own TP! « less

My husband and I are here for the week of April 8th. WE found this hotel through Priceline for a very good rate. We were very pleased with our room (King Size Bed). The room is very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The grounds are very quiet. I was somewhat concerned when we first arrived because we did appear to be on a busy side of town, but the hotel is not too close to the main road, so it was peaceful. We are only about 10 minutes from the historic district, and we love driving through the beautiful neighborhoods into town. The only issue, which didn't bother us, was that our room has a sliding bathroom door, and it had come off the hinges. The walls are also a little thin, but we could only hear through the restroom if our neighbors were taking a shower. It was nothing annoying or irritating, however. I would recommend this reasonably priced, yet nice hotel if you are staying in Savannah to save some $$$! « less

My family and I stopped here to spend some time in Savannah after being in Florida on vacation. On first glance the room was nice in appearance, seemed clean and taken care of. While unloading our stuff into the room my wife found stick pins from a dress shirt stuck into the chair in our room. Thankfully she found them before one of my children did, including my 22 month old daughter. On my second trip from the car I could hear my youngest screaming in the room. After I got into the room I found my wife tending to a bleeding wound on the foot of my youngest. My kids had been excitedly looking through the peephole waiting to spot me when my daughter stepped on a carpet staple. I went over to the door and looked around for what she had stepped on and found approx 5-6 carpet staples on and sticking out of the carpet by the door. I took the staples and stick pins and went to the front desk. The clerk working the desk was very apologetic and found me a couple alcohol pads and a band aid for my daughter. I gave her the staples and pins and she told me she would give them to the manager and tell him about it. She said that they might be left over from a recent renovation that the hotel just finished. I thanked her and informed her I wanted to speak to the manager and she provided me with his name. The next day I found another staple by the door and took it down to the front desk. I spoke to the manager and explained what had happened the previous night. His attitude from the beginning was less then enthusiastic or helpful. He claimed that the staple didn't look to be a carpet staple but a upholstery staple and that while the hotel had gone through a renovation, it had been completed a while ago and that the crew who did the renovations had cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. Additionally he claimed the cleaning crew had just been in our room and would have found anything like what I described. He did offer to take care of any shots my daughter might need if any were needed but that was the extent of his help or concern. After returning to the room and discussing it with my wife I went back to the door and ran my hands over the carpet and found an additional 7 staples sticking up out of the carpet, some were sharp end up. My wife was furious over the managers reaction and inaction over this incident. She took the newly found staples and confronted him and he finally changed our room. All in all it was a sour experience and end to a nice family vacation. « less

This is a quiet oasis tucked away on a busy street in Savannah. When you drive up to the lobby, you are suddenly isolated from all the traffic and hurly burly. We have stayed here multiple times, the staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms and entire complex are very clean and comfortable. The staff really went out of their way to assist us with places to go and what to do. The location is convenient to everything and there are a lot of great food choices nearby. The price is amazing, extremely reasonable. This hotel is my first choice in Savannah! « less
