Great experience staying at the Royal Sonesta Houston, super desk staff, excellent check in and very friendly, just be sure you arrive after yoyur room is ready I had to wait for my room to be made ready at 13:00 . Great room and generally very comfotable. Placed near the Galleria, in Houston makes it ideal for restaraunts and shopping if you are the expensive shopper.
A bit out of the way for anything else and traffic bad in the area, so if visiting get a car, but not from the Hertz in the Galleria. generally I loved it and a great hotel « less

I have been in this hotel a number of times to visit business partners however I finally stayed at Royal Sonesta with my family and we had a wonderful stay. It was made extra special as we stayed on the Executive floors and enjoyed a few evening cocktails and breakfast in the morning. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the rooms were very comfortable overall. The only suggestion is that they need to do something about the air quality in the hallways of the rooms as they are very stuffy and it almost seemed like there was no air conditioning running in the halls at all. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay and I hope to visit again soon. « less

Issues seemed to snowball...problems at check-in, changing rooms, ice machine out of order, uncomfortable room temperature, dirty carpets, bathroom (even with poor lighting) was dirty, television reception extremely poor/limited and then to top it off noise was continuous through the night. « less

I have travelled to Houston over the past ten years to attend OTC, this was my first time staying at the Royal Sonesta and it most definitely will not be the last. The entire experience was great from start to finish. I was booked to arrive on Sunday but showed up on Saturday a day early, the desk staff was extremely helpful in getting me a room and made me feel as if I did nothing rong by showing up early. There was a line when I walked in to the hotel on Saturday but it moved quickly so to me it didn't matter. My room was on the 19 floor, beds very comfortable, flat screen TV and very clean. As I travelled back and forth to the conference I was greeted with a pleasant "good morning, good evening, welcome back" by multiple front staff along the way. Breakfast was delicious as was my evening cocktails at the bar lounge. The staff everywhere seemed friendly, in a good mood and happy which is refreshing for a hotel of this size during such busy time. I will be back next year. « less
