I travel a bunch and enjoy staying at some amazing hotels. This Westin blew me away. Every staff member made it their goal to make sure my group and I were taken care of throughout our 3 day stay. Every one of them. What a great group!!! The hotel itself is fantastic with views and amenities galore. Add the staff to the facility and its nothing short of fantastic. Book your stay and enjoy. It's as good as it gets. Thanks « less

Quite possibly one of Tampa's most beautiful new hotels, it is consistently considered a top hotel destination in Tampa. Then, you meet the staff.
I was recently involved in a wedding at this location, and the management (which is very tall, and silo'ed) was completely disconnected from the numerous problems that nobody seemed willing to take ownership of.
Total cost? About $8 Grand, and that was for 50 people. Amenities covered? Wedding terrace, small reception area, food and liquor. (Go over your time limit of 11 O'Clock, and not only will the amenities turn back into pumpkins, but you'll be charged $50 an hour.) No rooms were included, no special considerations, nothing.
The night before the wedding, I did not have a card the hotel was willing to accept (having already paid $8,000 for the wedding.) I was given assurances that I could check in the night prior, and check out the following day with cash. Wrong. My best man was forced to use his credit card for incidentals (damages, charges to the room.)
Upon check out, they did not notify me I had a balance due, indicating they would comp the room. As a result, my best man was charged for my room. They refused to refund his money until I paid the rate, several days later - (which is an illegal practice.)
Management refused to be engaging, the catering manager was sullen, moody, and often hands-off in her responses to issues that needed consideration, citing "that's not my job," or "we don't do that."
Hospitality of a Best Western, with the ambiance of a Trump Tower.
If you don't mind staff who refuse accountability, this is a beautiful hotel. Just don't allow anything bad to happen to you, because they won't do anything to provide you the level of service you might expect. « less

My husband, daughter & I stayed at this hotel. When we arrived they parked our car which was rather nice even though the guy who parks the vehicle's didn't seem like he cared much for his job. The only reason why we ended up stay at this location was because we arrived a day early and our original hotel was booked and we wouldn't be able to get in till our Original time and date. Totally understandable and it was memorial weekend so all the hotels were booked and this one just so happen to have a room available so we grabbed it. So anyways when we walked thru the doors to the front desk I instantly got a vibe that I wasn't going to be happy. People were staring at us like we were trash. Considering me just drove for 21hrs with a 2 yr old, we didn't look all the great but NOT trash. It was extremely high class which was perfectly fine but even when the front desk guy was a little confused when we booked our room I knew instantly I wasn't going to sleep well. However the hotel was BEAUTIFUL and the it was so nice and clean . When we finally got up to our room I was blown away. Gorgeous view and extremely comfortable beds. The bath had a huge shower and the bathroom was a good size. The room itself was perfect size. BUT as we got settled in we were going to order food but it was so costly! we went ahead and said oh well we are on vacation we will go ahead and order. Glad we did! It was to die for!! the food was perfect!!!!!! However the door across the hall had 2 dogs who wouldn't STOP barking all night and u could hear them scratching at the door. Nonstop all night!! I barley slept and keeping my daughter asleep was impossible because of the dogs! We called the front desk they said they will let us know what they can do considering dogs were not allowed. They called and said they checked it out and there was no dogs. They clearly didn't bother to even look because they never stopped barking. I even knock on whomever they were door and no one answer. even other guest were coming out of there rooms wondering why there were dogs and they couldn't sleep either so I knew that the front desk clearly were not doing their jobs. I couldn't wait to check out and leave and go to our first hotel. it took forever to check out!! They charged my card for things that we never ordered or got. So that took forever to clear up. Finally when the valet arrived with our car it had bird poop all over it!! How disgusting!!! I was livid but kept my mouth shut and wanted out of there asap! After our vacation was completely done and over with and we arrived back in Iowa I went to the bank because something wasn't adding up correctly. I talked to my banker she printed off checking account papers and the hotel charged us 200$ more for who knows what?? I called them and nothing was getting resolved till I pointed out that the card my husband gave was mine and they didn't even ask my permission to authorize it. So as soon as that was said they gave us our money back and I was glad to FINALLY be done!! So needless to say it was not worth the hassle!!!! we will NOT EVER be returning back to this hotel. « less

Dear PaigeR, Your feed back is very much appreciated and I can understand why the title of you review is "love and hated". It appears that we fell short in some areas and then exceeded your expectations in others. I apologize for the shortcomings and can assure you that all of your comments have been taken constructively and steps have already been taken to correct them. We will also continue to monitor and respond to barking dogs who are left unattended by less condiderate guests than yourself although the pet policy which they sign at check in clearly states that this is prohibited!!!. Your compliments will also be passed along to our team and I would like to express their appreciation in advance.

Boomed this hotel months well in advanced. We arrived to a snotty welcome by the front desk staff. We chose this hotel because we had never stayed at a Westin and had been excited to see their Heavenly Bed. This was our 2 year Wedding Anniverssary trip, I called ahead of time to ask if they would put us in a nice room. For a small upgrade you would get the "Indulge Experience" which included breakfast, parking, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and rose petals and daily breakfast included.
Once in the room, it wasn't what I expected. There were fake rose petals, no champagne, no strawberries and the bed was hard as a rock! I ran down to the front desk and the red head snotty front desk clerk wanted nothing to do with me so I ordered to see the manager. He admitted the package was messed up. So now the flowers, champagne, parking & strawberries would all be on the house. That was a nice gesture.
Pool is inside & 24 hr. it's too small. Wifi isn't free. Breakfast is fine. Nice view from room but for what you pay for you don't get a good experience, from what I read online we should have stayed at the Holiday Inn next door which gets crazy good reviews.

Stevojax, Thank you for sharing your unfortunate experience and please accept my sincere apologies for a disappointing 2nd year wedding anniversary. We obviously dropped the ball and for that I will not offer any excuses but instead say that I am sorry and assure you that steps have been taken to avoid this from happening again. I am pleased to see that you appreciated the gesture, on behalf of the hotel, to not charge you for the items mentioned. However, we hope that you will give us another chance to provide you with the level of service that is nothing short of personal and instinctive. Please feel free to contact me directly and I would be pleased to handle your arrangements personally. Best Regards, Ron General Manager
