Are they refurbishing all the Courtyard restaurants to look like McDonalds? To my mind the lobby, lounge and restaurant area are spoilt by the appearance of the new style bar/food counter, which really does look like a fast food place . . . personally I don't like having to stand in line to buy breakfast from a rather narrow selection - I would compare it to Starbucks, with bottled drinks, cereal in plastic tubs with peel-back lids, coffee in paper cups . . . it just doesn't sit right to my mind, and I will be avoiding Courtyards in future for this reason. It's the same arrangement for dinner (although a couple of the dishes are very tasty). There is a (rather expensive) bar with a small cocktail menu, but it's not the real thing - the cocktails come from bottles of 'cocktail mix'. There was very limited choice for eating nearby - a couple of diners and a couple of restaurants, but even though they are within walking distance, in true American style, there's no sidewalk!
My room was fine, and the maid did her job very well. But I needed earplugs - noisy aircon.
Another thing to bear in mind, although this is no fault of the hotel's, is that you can't turn left out of the hotel towards the I-287 - you have to turn right and drive about a mile to do a U-turn. US 10, on which the hotel sits, has many restricted junctions in the vicinity - a lot of 'NO TURNS' signs, a concrete barrier down the middle of the highway and several 'jug handles' which you need to be ready for, and which my GPS (Hertz NeverLost, which I thought should be renamed EverLost), didn't know about! « less

I wanted to do a mini swim vacation. We booked the room base on the pictures and information from Marriott.com the information and reality were not the same. They are getting rid of the hot tub(boo). The pool was clean but water cold and they don't have any soundproofing so it was VERY loud. The official pictures show a different pool and outside area than reality. When I asked two different people at two different times I was told that the pictures are what the place will look like AFTER the renovations are complete. Someone else said that Marriott made a mistake. Either way it is dishonest.

From the lobby onward, a pleasant experience. I love the new Bistro dining room; enjoyed a great prepared breakfast from a very proficient member of staff. My room and surroundings were all perfect. Internet worked seamlessly, and had a decent speed. Reaching the hotel can involve some extra navigating if you are coming in from the wrong direction on a high speed divided state highway. Other than, that; nothing not to like. « less

I read some of the other reviews and at least the 2 stays where I was here were not that bad. The rooms were updated and clean. The lobby is pleasant. The service is mostly pleasant. I would have given them a better rating, but the actual execution is pretty weak. Booking instructions and preference instructions in Marriott profile are completely ignored for example. I left aan expensive article of clothing on a Friday. Instead of ending up in lost and foud such that I coule retreive, it disapeared. This happens occasionally, but the desk really did not seem to care. Other Hotels would have found our who was housekeeping on that room for that day and asked about it, started tracking missing items in case theft was the issue. « less

We stayed here after a wedding. The renovated rooms have a 70s look to them. We were upgraded to a larger room with a living room which we didn't use as we were only in the room for about 12 hours. Bathroom was fine, the beds were comfortable. The lobby was spacious and pretty cool looking. The food seemed overpriced. I think they would have offered a shuttle to and from the wedding but because it wasn't the hotel where the bride was at, it wasn't offered. Also, it is conveniently located but if you're not careful, you'll miss the driveway and have to do a U-Turn and shoot for it again. « less
