I've stayed all over Austin. This hotel is the best out of 5 ""value"" hotels I hit this month in Austin and SAT. Building seems newly built. Everything is clean and new. The people are, as the saying goes, "friendly." Non-sketchy area. ESA the company probably has some bad hotels, but this one is really above par.
Every single competing 2 star hotel in town has several aspects that are horrible (smell, decor, location, noise rooms, or all of the above). Not this one. This really deserves 3 stars, at least now, while it's so clean and new. What you have here is the best deal in town. « less

Due to SXSW the closest we could stay to Austin for a reasonable price was the Extended Stay - Round Rock South. It was about a 20 minute drive on I-35 and we had no problems getting to/from. Though I hear rush hour traffic can get pretty bad on the weekdays. Anyhow, we had no problems with the hotel. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it comes complete with a kitchen. I was here for one night and didn't have a chance to cook anything, but it was a nice touch. Also the staff was very friendly. « less
