Stayed here twice in May 2013 as a stopover for flights. Would absolutely stay again the next time I'm in Ft. Lauderdale. Service is stellar, and seems inspired by the gentleman who manages the front desk during the day. We were always personally greeted and warmly welcomed. Rooms are clean and mostly quiet, nicely appointed for an airport hotel. FYI - the room air conditioner blows right on the bed (cold!), and climate controls can be fussy. Breakfast is tasty, included in your stay, and worth a quick stop.
Chipotle and a few other other helpful shops are located 3 minutes walking distance. There's also a movie theater within a mile.
Another tip -- if you need transfer between Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports, skip the shuttle services. They're expensive and complicated (especially if you're coming from Miami). We instead booked a car rental to get from one airport to the next. It's half the price of a shuttle, and we didn't have to share the car with 5 other people! « less

We arrived at the airport in Fort Lauderdale and contacted the hotel for our free transportation to their location. The transportation runs every hour on the 1/2 hr, but we were fortunate and got there about 5 minutes prior to the bus departing. We were then taken to the hotel where check in was simple. The hotel is simple, but nice, clean and comfortable and offers anything you might need.
We were very happy with our room which offered a mini frig (to start chilling the wine!), separate area to get ready beside the bathroom, living space, bed, and then the bathroom. We also had a nice, comfortable couch which would be very nice for families.
They offer drinks and a limited menu at the hotel. They also provide free transportation to the nearby shopping area (Kmart and other stores, and some restaurants). This was extremely helpful so that we could pick up any misc items, our alcohol, pop, water and some snacks for the ship. If you forget anything, you can get it here! We walked back, however, it was a much farther walk than we anticipated (not so bad if you wear decent shoes, but I didn't). We ate at Dave & Buster's and the food was delicious, and it is fun for adults and kids.
They offer a continental breakfast and also some hot items eggs and sausage links, cereal, various breads, muffins, croissants, french toast, juices, milk, coffee etc... It was good. I didn't have any of the breads, but some in our group said it was pretty dry. I was just happy it was included in our price, and one less thing we had to worry about before leaving. We got our hotel through Hotwire for $71, which I think was a fantastic deal!
There is a Burger King within walking distance from the hotel as well.
The only complaint I had is that it is right by the highway and it can be a bit noisy if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise, it was fine and the bed was comfy.
Although we were going to the Miami cruise port, we stayed there just in case our plane was delayed and then we weren't arriving late. We made arrangements through the hotel with Avanti Shuttle to be taken down there. We paid $75 for the five of us (two families) each way. It was only about a 30 minute ride. It was fine with me because I think if we had been in Miami and had seen the ships, I couldn't have waited to get to the port and would have sat there forever waiting!
I would definitely stay there again if departing from either Lauderdale or Miami. « less

We stayed for 2 nights in April. It is conveniently located near the airport. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and then drove down to Key West. We needed a hotel upon arrival and for the night before our departure flight. The first night we arrived late and checked in right away. We were given a room right beside the highway. The room was nice but it was noisy. I requested a room on the other side of the hotel for our other night but was given a room on the side of the higjway. I called the front desk and they gave me another room. The hotel looks exactly like the photos on its website. It is in good condition and the staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast was good with a very large selection of items to choose from. « less

We stay at Hyatt Place frequently, and we really enjoyed the one night stay at Hyatt Place (Dania Beach). Shuttle from Ft. Lauderdale airport was convenient. The location was accessible to stores for last minute cruise shopping. The facility was very clean, and breakfast was delicious. The transfer to the cruise port in Miami worked out flawlessly. My fiance and I came down to visit family and to take a nice vacation and were lucky enough to hear about the Hyatt House from a friend who stayed there last year. We ended up arriving earlier than check in but thanks to Missy, we were able to check in early. She also gave us some AMAZING suggestions on restaurants and told us about some fun things to do while we visited too! Our room was absolutely wonderful! The bed was so comfortable we wished we could find a way to stuff it in our suitcase to take home! The room was spotless and the kitchen, yes a kitchen with a fridge and freezer and everything, was great. Breakfast in the morning was OK but with people like Gloria, Jean and Airacelle you can't go wrong. The Happy Hour was a great touch too! We also came across the supervisor Yolanda who was amazing as well the day before we left. The only complaint we did having during our stay was someone at the front desk named Sergay. I hate to say anything bad as the kid seemed nice enough but whenever I had a question, he didn't seem to know the answer. I told him I needed an airport shuttle at6:30am and he said OK. Apparently, your shuttle doesn't run than. I also came up to him a couple of times at the front desk and stood right in front of him while he just stared at the computer ignoring me. Overall, my fiancee and I will be back by the end of the year and look forward to staying at the Hyatt again!
