The Salt Lake City center is about the area of Wells Fargo Center and the area of Salt Lake Public Library Main Building.

Visiting Salt Lake City is a visual lesson in history. The city's history goes back as far as the year 1 to 1300 AD when the Pueblo, aka Anasazi, made their home in southern Utah. The Navajo Indians and Ute Tribe followed. The city itself was founded in 1847 by Brigham Young and Mormon pioneers. Within days of the pioneers' arrival, plans were drawn and the area was named Great Salt Lake City. More from this guide...

The capital and most populous city in Utah combines the amenities of a major metropolitan area with the friendliness of a quaint, mountain town. Salt Lake City has developed a strong outdoor recreation industry based primarily on skiing and even hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. Utah claims to have the 'Greatest Snow on Earth,' and many who visit the Salt Lake area have come to see why. In addition to its natural beauty, Salt Lake City is also a perfect destination for meetings and conventions. With SLC International Airport just minutes from downtown, the Salt Palace Convention Center hosts numerous events annually. And with just under 200,000 permanent residents, Salt Lake City is continuing to grow.
