Bar Chart: Upcoming 20 Days of Sedona Hotel Rates

Rates shown are nightly rates before taxes and do not necessarily reflect all Sedona, AZ discounts available. The chart reflects the cheapest Sedona hotel for each day and each star rating category.

One of the most famous is at Buddha Beach, just upstream from Red Rock Crossing in Red Rock State Park. Littered with hundreds of cairns, or Buddhas, the site is a stunning tribute to the number of travelers who have come to the area seeking some of its enlightening power.

Whether the Sedona area has true healing powers or not, you'll find it a mecca of spiritual services, with plentiful psychics, massage therapists, reiki masters, shamans, counselors, and life coaches. If you prefer a more solitary approach to rejuvenation and enlightenment, you'll also find several attractions that cater to peaceful afternoons and quiet meditation, with dozens of art galleries and a handful of local wineries begging you to come in for a leisurely exploration of their wares.

Whatever your agenda includes, Sedona is the type of destination that leaves a mark on its visitors, sending them home just a little altered from the way they came.

When to Visit Sedona, Arizona

Spring is the most picturesque time to visit Sedona. The area blooms with color as wildflowers create splashes of yellow, orange, and purple against the red rock backdrop. Temperatures are typically between the mid-60s and low 80s, creating the ideal environment for a peaceful hike. The Sedona Yoga Festival takes place in March, followed by the Sedona Bluegrass Festival in April and May. The only downsides to this season are the high prices and big crowds.

Though Sedona's summers are in the upper 90s, Phoenix and Tucson residents still find it a cooler alternative to their hometowns. This is peak tourist season for local visitors, but a slower time for those coming in from out-of-state. If you do visit Sedona during this time, you'll find prices are typically lower.

As temperatures drop in fall, the flow of visitors rises again. The Red Rocks Music Festival takes place in August and September, followed by the Sedona Plein Air Festival in October. Temperatures are still plenty warm in the 70s and 80s, but this doesn't deter fall visitors. Plan to book a room about a month in advance to score a good hotel during this season.

Winter is another slow season in Sedona, and a prime time to find affordable hotel rooms in the area. You can enjoy the Festival of Trees at Tlaquepaque in November and December as well as the Sedona International Film Festival in February. Expect temperatures around the mid-50s with the chance of light snowfall.

I loved the mountains in the desert. This city has some of the best desert weather and outdoor activities. Plenty of local artists and shops in town. The city is known for a very vibrant southwest cuisine. The resort spas are some of the best as well. It always makes for a very magical getaway. I can't wait to come back.

"Wonderful"
Score 5.0 / 5

The one thing that stood out for both of us was the friendly service we received wherever we shopped or ate. They certainly know how to treat tourists and without exception met our needs. The shops are both unique and carried a variety of merchandise which offered good value for our money. The views were spectacular and we found many places to explore both inside and outside the city. We are seniors and unable to walk great distances, however, found plenty to do and see. The variety of statues around the city depicting native heritage as well as various animals were always a treat to see. The landscaping was well worth a drive to see the unique places nestled up in the hills and in the shopping areas. The views were spectacular and we have many good memories of our time in Sedona. It is indeed a gem! The architecture was also very interesting and the houses blended in with the scenery very well which was a treat. We also noted no speeding cars and overall felt a sense of security that money can't buy.
