The Aircon in the room was very noisy, and the first night there wasn't hot water in the shower. The outside of the Hotel needs some attention and maintenance. Cleaning of the room needs to be booked every morning before 8 but only one form was provided on the first day of checking in, resulting on our room not being cleaned the second day.

Many things to do in and around Columbus, such as visiting Tupelo (an hour away), visiting Mississippi State University (approximately 20 minutes away). Many things for entertainment in the local area as well. Large variety of restaurants in the area to choose from.

The area near the MS University for Women was exquisite.

The area near the MS University for Women was exquisite. The campus and surrounding area was lovely. There were a ton of restaurants and a range of dining experiences. Our hotel was a straight shot to downtown. Try Peppers for great soup bread bowls and Zacks for southern comfort food, burgers, and sandwiches .

Stayed in Columbus while visiting our college son, who attends Mississippi State. Columbus fine, but would never again book to stay at Wingate by Wyndham. We had to move to the Hampton Inn in Columbus, which was clean and had friendly staff. Easy drive to Starkville.

We were passing through so the only thing I did in Columbus was to go to a local greenhouse where I was able to find a reverse varigated Spider Plant for my daughter who loves Spider Plants. It is really neat. I think we also ate at a Cracker Barrel. I love eating there because I know what to expect. I feel lucky that I was able to find a really good hotel!

The owner was more than accommodating and gracious. What a fantastic location to the downtown area and many other properties. We spent two nights and had a great opportunity to connect with the owner and six other people staying at the property. When we return to Columbus we will not look for any other property. We will stay here again! Comfortable beds, quiet rooms and great breakfast! Thanks Burnette!

Breakfast was yummy and easy to take to the room. It was close to Columbus AFB which is where the event we were attending was happening. The staff was pleasant even though they did not appear to know all that they should.
