I was in town because my mom was in the hospital so it was great that I was greeted and checked in quickly. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. She understood my inability to say for sure when I would check out (doctors!?) so I was able to call and let them kniw after I saw the doctor each morning whether I needed to extend or would check out.

Luling's top Barbecue place called The Market was not a disappointment. We liked the Farmer's Market and Watermelon Thump.... We had a tomato and a plum from the Farmer's Market when we got home and they both were DELICIOUS!! Stopped and spent an hour talking with a 90 year old farmer who was so wise and interesting. Small town, friendly folks that make you feel welcome.

We didn't want to be in Luling, but it was the only place we could find an available motel. Had to make last-minute reservations during the Gonzales, TX "Come And Take It" festival and all the rooms in Gonzales were taken.
