Bastrop is beautiful city. The Colorado River is flowing, birds and deer everywhere. The state park offers hiking option from easy to challenging. The restaurants ( esp The neighbor) served good food and the people are very nice. We also liked the good ol’ barber shop called the Chubby’s. The historic houses are something to check out as well.

Great little city made better by the tourist drawdown.
Great little city made better by the tourist drawdown. Most hotels/motels are south of Highway 71, which is under major sonstruction, which is hard for a stranger to get back and forth. Food shortages tend to limit menus and hours of operation downtown. Has a wonderful Bucky's which heals most wounds! Nice state park recovering well after the big fire of 2011.

Fun place, even during the pandemic!
Fun place, even during the pandemic! We fished both north & south lake and had a blast, saw several folks rafting down the river, ate at a few great establishments; a place we thought was THE Roadhouse, ended up being a pretty good burger place! We enjoyed watching wildlife (including many deer!). Downtown has nostalgic stores and a river walk, a few craft beer places - one which we purchased a delicious raspberry growler at. The wildly rolling hills and numerous waterways were unexpected treats. We stayed 3 days/4 nights, was a perfect stay and are planning on going again soon.

It is a forest with a city nearby.
It is a forest with a city nearby. We had an 8 hour drive that we divided into two days by staying the night in Bastrop. The area suffered a forest fire just a few years ago. Now the new growth is emerging and the State Park is looking good. There is a variety of restaurants and shopping. A beautiful area to see and explore.

We were in Bastrop for a Awards luncheon at Your competitors big fancy resort down the road. it is a five hour drive from our home town to Bastrop so we decided to spend Wednesday night in Bastrop then go to the luncheon Thursday and drive home. The Quality Inn was just in the right place with the right price. Every thing we needed when we got to town was right there. A large choice of places to eat. and other shops. My wife and I are both handicapped, the staff took care of our needs and the room was great, We will go back the next time we visit Bastrop!

I was there for the Corvette Invasion car show.
I was there for the Corvette Invasion car show. I can heartily recommend two restaurants. For Mexican, the Casa Chapala. I went there twice, and had the steak fajita tacos, minus the mushrooms. Really? Mushrooms in a taco? The salsa was awesome! We like it hotter than what they usually serve, so they made it especially for us.
The other restaurant, an Italian, is Bassano Del Grappa. I had the veal Marsalla, and my friend had the linguini in white clam sauce. Everything was awesome, and I believe that the Marsalla sauce is the best that I've had.
Our sixteenth hotel on our tour of America and after our last superb hotel we were anxious. No need to be as from our welcome to getting in to our room all went very nicely. Room was a good size, clean and plenty of pillows! Breakfast was very good considering the price but coffee could do with improving. Despite advising the building is scheduled for a refurb later this year housekeeping have kept it fresh and very usable, well done. The bonus was a Walmart store is virtually its next door neighbour.
I was in Bastrop Texas to participate in the Corvette Invasion. Having registered late the sponsor hotel was booked up. I then called another hotel close to the sponsor hotel. They were going to charge me an outlandish price so I chose the Best Western as the next closest hotel. The rate was extremely reasonable, especially for the service they offered and I received. I highly recommend this location when staying in Bastrop.
It is actually right at a major highway interchange but there was no noise in the room. Right across the street is a Denny's and Burger King, on the corner is a gas station, about a block away was grocery store. Microwave, fridge and coffeemaker in room. No blow-dryer. If you went about a mile away you were right in the heart of historic Bastrop which was cool and funky with great shopping and good eating.
It was a beautiful house with plenty of space. The house worked out so well with the multiple bedrooms & office. Great location for us, visiting family in Bastrop. It was also close enough that we were able to go in to Austin to see UT & the state Capitol. The host Ann was very attentive & helpful through texts with the few questions we had. Would definitely recommend this home for a rental!
My first visit with my wife at this Hi,and suites, tubsoap or even a sented liquid for the hot tub. Last Hampton Inn And it was excellent all the amenities staff ready and willing to help would go above and beyond to make you comfortable, this particular hotel needs some work, I say a loot of work.
The house is lovely and we felt right at home. The view is gorgeous. The owners are very kind. Could not have asked for more. It was exactly what we needed for the night. We would definitely go back again if we needed to spend the night in the area. They would be our first call.
Breakfast was great, Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits and Sausage gravy, fruit, Pancakes, Cereal. The dining area was clean. The attendant immediately cleaned off the tables when guests finished. Coffee was hot and fresh.
Beautiful home and perfect location for visiting Bastrop.
The house has a wonderful old-world charm as well as beautiful garden surrounding the property.
Within walking distance to mainstreet.
It's a dump don't stay here horrible place dirty run down and should be shut down immediately. Worst hotel I've ever seen. Not an exaggeration. The damn door to the room didn't even shut or lock.
The hotel was nice, clean, and quiet. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The property is conveniently located to shopping areas and the highway which worked well for this trip.
